Care to explain how that is an example of what makes people leave? A lone LSC jumping at the same time a GRN BC and cruiser happen to exit the lane, who then don't jump immediately to hostilities, instead demand a fine for his present, during when the GRN2 LEAVES the area and still refusing to interact at all with the lone GRN ship, complain OOC in local, then what I assume departing the computer altogether, and the destroyer returning predicting enemy warships joining it at the jumpgate. Care to explain how that at all is the fault of the GRN players and not the LSC player who refused to RP at all with the GRN players, instead leaving until they just destroy it before it joins the over-kill task-force that was the Liberty fleet?
I was under impression Capital(Military) ships CANT be pirated (ask money from) , no mater is it called pirating or paying fines !
GRN and LNS are in war and they can shoot each other without this demand , but asking money is just trolling (besides breaking rules if i am not mistaking).

Nope , we are on topic .
My point is , things like this , obvious breaking of rules , trolling and ganking chase players away and community see this and nobody reacts to prevent it , protect players , help them or sanction guilty ones .
. . . Well nobody who can influence things anyway . I notice this and shift attention on it , but thats all i can do .
All we see is making fun of players that leave , posts like "buhuhuuu , he cry" , "get gud" and similar crap . As far i am aware , 1.2 is in charge of this (1.2 Flaming, insulting, trolling and harassing other players) .
Well , probably it is better for him and all other like him/as to leave game , because trolls wont stop until server is empty of all except marry few who can then troll between them self indefinitely .

And as I said, I was being ganked, chased and rule broken against for years now in Liberty. I learned to "deal with it". My secret? I assume that everyone around me is idiot and they deserve no positive expectations and what do you know? So my expectations are never negatively shattered and can only go towards positive surprise.

An even better way of handling it would be to expect to get ganked and live with it, but treat the people who don't gank you as you would like to be treated anyway.

Thats becouse you are (probably), like me, trough all kinds of crap in RL, so you are not easily upset with pethy things in this or in any other game.
But many other players cant deal with it, for varius reasons (if they are kids for example), so they simply cant deal with it, they need help or protection.

He already made clear that he would "leave disco" or wont interact with the grn before any real "rp" even started.
Which is weird since that lsc stood at the NY gate doing nothing, knowing he's flying a combat vessel, even a capital ship, in a system where hostile ships are roaming. He should know well enough that "rp" demands him to be taken care of, however you look at it. Tbh his reaction didn't fit to his behavior.
