Are you getting the message about enterning/completing the event when purchasing/selling the cargo? Or any message at all? What does it say?

Remember that you cannot lose a single unit of cargo during transportation to be eligible for bonus.

I remembered that I accidentally pressed "drop all cargo" during transportation and beamed it again. That explains it.

The combat event part of Ice Lance is over. However, the NEMP event will remain open as it is nearly completed anyway.

Because shooting transports without giving them a way out is such a "good job".

In certain circumstances, transports can be shot and don't have to be given a way out by virtue of them being transports. It's just part of the game.
