Why not set Embrun to a billion HP and let the Gaians (and whoever really) try to destroy it over the course of a week? Then the factions can organize attacks, and if a side has worse odds because they are outnumbered, they could use a balancing factor to give the underdog a better chance, like using NEMP's? Or hiring freelancers inrp. Give it some time, real time, and a real 'objective', the real consequences of a victory for the Gaians or not can actually be enticement to join a side and help.
This is literally just show up, line up, pew, end. those seeking blues get what they want, tons of opportunity for the rest of the server thrown away. Story artificially moves on which is actually not moving at all as such. There are many ways to balance out these situations to make them interesting and attract people, and it would help if players were given some notice a battle like this was coming, they could prepare by organizing, seeking players to join them, etc.
Its like this, I havent played Gaians as they never interested me that much so far, but if a real battle breaks out over a battleship, and its fall greatly effects how the Gaians move forward, vs how the Enclave moves forward, I'd grind to make a cruiser to jump in. And if it cant be taken down in a single assault, I'd keep at it if we could continue to try shaving off HP with every attack.
Let super weapons and repair ships be balancers. Making repair ships work on bases like this opens up a whole new role and chance to score back. Enclave guys might not have a huge force that can get on all at once but if they cant defend the ship they could always try repairs between attacks.
NEMPs have been disabled for PvP (0 DMG) and would only make FPS low for people. And it's a leftover from before. And for a good reason.

Because I don't have Gaian ship and I never actually log against GRN/GRE. I'd come on event at gallic side even if it was 5vs15 in favor of an enemy. With Gaians that's not the case, but in the past we were outnumbered pretty heavily from time to time. I believe you know that I am dedicated gallic player.

Eh. Now there is another weird situation, where someone accuses another of what they did not do, and then, by coincidence, does the same thing themselves. I know that this is not intentional and there is nothing wrong with preferring one flavour over another, but this is what it looks like and the irony made me jiggle.

Well, if that was true I would probably always try to be on the winning side. Which is not the case.

The situation is obviously coincidental, as I said, and not produced by malice, and certainly not your malice. I was jiggling at the randomly generated situation, much like in Loken's thread, and not you. Hanlon's razor is a handy thing to have, by the way! Is this okay?

Kudos to this good community for being able to recognise acestacking is bad for the game. Only thing even worse than that is forcing any player (ace or not) to play on side he didn't want to. GMs (I won't point my finger on any of them, but it's Durandal
) duty to keep the gameplay alive forces them to be so radical and remove our best players from the list. Tough problem we have here.I suggest known aces should occupy two event slots, instead of just one. In that case five stacked aces would face ten noobs/averages on events. Or they would unstack. This means aces would be punished for all the training and efforts they had to reach le skill. But at least they would have a choice.
Someone might have better solution, so please say it.
Also, I will not play this event until I see Loken and Shiki are satisfied with solution we came to - and they apply back. Being deeply involved in fighting against acestacking, after this mess I simply lost my right (and will) to enjoy in the event.
Mods, I agree to remove this post to appropriate thread and make a discussion how to solve this issue. We are stuck here. Unstuck, please.

I'm not going to make the playing with friends argument because that isn't my issue with this, nor is this a conversation I want to get deeply involved in.
Nobody was prompted to sign up or stack the teams on our side, people just individually saw the announcement and picked the team that they actually wanted to play on. I think the only person I shared it with was Lex because he doesn't frequently check the forum.
This isn't Team Fortress 2 and we aren't just playing Red vs Blue here. This is a faction based, roleplaying game where lots of people are going to favour the side they have built characters around and are more personally invested in. If people are going to be forced to play for a faction that they don't want to play for the sake of a few complaints then that's not something I want to be involved in.
We'll just make our own event where people are interested in playing both sides.
@Pepe, I appreciate your input, and you are one of the few remaining people that I would consider to be a consistent force for good in the community, and you always have an excellent attitude towards the game. But how exactly do you define what an ace is? And how do you put a precise value on an individual player? It's subjective, there are already choices Durandal made when crafting his list that some of us would question, it's a topic that you could argue about for months and never come to a conclusion.
Regardless, we still wouldn't have actually cared if the other side had been given more fighters. Some of us are used to fighting in those conditions and actually enjoy it.

If @Ryummel is willing to stay on the Gaian side I'm happy to sign Shiki and the rest of the MdG back up at this point with the way the roster looks.
