ADMIN NOTICE: Slot Saving - Turkish - 07-09-2009 Thats ridiculous, complete transparency of the utilities should be given. Anyone with the will to cheat can simply establish their own internal server and test the mathodology. If you want to learn, you'll learn. I'm not saying publish the ifnormation, but answer the user's request privately if need be. ADMIN NOTICE: Slot Saving - hribek - 07-09-2009 From my experience, the violators usually admit or give themselves away somehow. If they refuse to acknowledge that it's utterly wrong and keep doing it, they end up crossing Korrd's desk, I figure. I've had my share of encounters with those, but also some people who were smart enough to stop doing that when I told them it's "simply bad". No need to waste time when the problem solves itself. When the server is full and I spot something like that, I take every opportunity to blast their ships. Having fun is top priority for me, taking the trash out is a very poor substitute. ADMIN NOTICE: Slot Saving - Cannon - 07-09-2009 ' Wrote:How do you distinguish this kind of cheating from 2 people actually playing from the same IP if I may ask? Very carefully. We don't always get it right though and will correct any mistakes as soon as possible. Many people (i.e. multiple people) do play from the same IP address. We have no problem with people doing this. ADMIN NOTICE: Slot Saving - worldstrider - 07-09-2009 I exercise my Junker right to pirate when I see someone "permgone". Demand cargo twice, then terminate. Good loot when they are loaded with classy ammo--and I help the server too:) ADMIN NOTICE: Slot Saving - n00bl3t - 07-09-2009 ' Wrote:This was brought up on the USA forums. There the admin there said they wont reveal the methodology as it will only help cheaters get around it. I suspect the admins here probably feel the same way. I suppose it would be difficult to tell the difference between one player going on a rampage with two battleships or power-trading with two advanced trains as opposed to two people role-playing in completely different areas of Sirius. ADMIN NOTICE: Slot Saving - farmerman - 07-09-2009 ' Wrote:I'm bumping this thread, so people read it again. I'm a bit confused about this. Multiple people from the same IP is acceptable, but just not the same person? Because you mention money making, is it specifically related to that? ADMIN NOTICE: Slot Saving - atlantis2112 - 07-09-2009 Quote:I suppose it would be difficult to tell the difference between one player going on a rampage with two battleships... If you can manage to shoot down fighters using 2 mice at the same time, you deserve to multi-box. ADMIN NOTICE: Slot Saving - carlabrams - 07-09-2009 Question and/or clarification, please: My son has come over in the past and we have played together online. Since I have FL installed on multiple computers at home - if he is flying one of my characters from a different account, at the same time I'm flying one of my characters, is that to be considered cheating? ADMIN NOTICE: Slot Saving - Jongleur - 07-09-2009 ooo.. good question Agmen.. *waits for response* ADMIN NOTICE: Slot Saving - akar.zaephyr - 07-09-2009 I thought I had these issues as an Travian Admin only. Now I see the same crap coming to Disco. Can't just people play fair? For God's sake, it's just a game people... (to those who need to cheat because of whatever their reasons are) Shame on those... PS: And as an ex-admin I doubt these guys here will tell you what they see:)And I absolutely second that - the less cheaters know, the more there is to be wondered. And that gives admins advantage in fighting cheaters who are not even sure what to be careful with. And yes, though not completely, I'm pretty sure admins can see the difference between different PCs under the same IP. You leave more information in the net than you think;) |
