The reason people are complaining is because it was needless, tedious, and removes more activity than you'll "gain". Factions like Coalition, Order, Outcasts etc don't fence their crap from others. They seize the market and push out competitors. They don't pay middle men more to fence their goods, they establish secret contracts and get them directly from the source, or get them themselves. But you're too, honestly, idiotic to care about how underworld economy works, but as long as cushy 5kers can afk trade on lanes all day without a dent in their profits aside from changing routes every 3 hours because a pirate exists, that's what matters.

Coalition just isn't a faction that's supposed to be playing a role in the mining economy, quite honestly.

Can someone give Karst a reward?

All im seeing is people complain that factions who shouldnt really trade and instead gather their activity by other means now actually have to Play their roles.

leave trading to Corps, not to every single ID in the game

Leaving trading to corps is not a wise decision. From my point of view, gathering activity isn't solely about trading. Trading has its own RolePlay benefits in certain circumstances. I rarely see Factions with lack of activity milk trading to amass their activity to the point they can't lose their -status-. Anywho, I saw players remain in one -relatively boring- system for long periods, specifically, to get that mandatory activity (For some -odd- reason, it happens solely to factions that require the activity). Indies, including me, done routes like these to avert myself from trade lanes and house space I often find, boring, uninteresting. Routes I mentioned before, were a nice example that passage through pretty systems can be fun, especially to me. I find certain Omicrons, Sigmas, Omegas I often pass via, beautiful. Worth mentioning that -some people don't like long trade routes-, like myself. These certain Ores that have their past sellpoints removed, have their RP background. Corporations certainly need this type of gameplay, but, you shouldn't exclude everyone else.

Indies don't care about their activity like OFs do, and those prior becoming Official. They mostly care about fun, because it's personal preference most of the time. Everyone's different, therefore, everyone has their own paths to get fun, by adding some nice stack of cash atop. Angel

I want to remind you the old sellpoints

Some of you are acting as if

a) one of the primary buyers isn't a Freeport accessible to everyone
b) the houses don't have two fences that should be accessible to almost everyone and were buffed in price
c) it's physically impossible to trade anything other than ores as a faction looking to fly transports

Personally id like to see a system similar to the commodities which sell at almost a whole range of bases around SIrius, so that pirates and smugglers can drop them off locally rather than flying to another house where their ZOI is useless, and secondly so factions like Zoners with their 3.5k cargo rule can also run cargo to various Zoner or independent stations. The system was fine as it was before with for the corp side, but factions who never got on with the house they was selling at , couldnt profit from that ore. This needs to be a fair playing field for all groups, i dont see how changing prices and locations everytime is going to help new players and veterans players to relearn the mechanics every update.

It's almost like trading normal commodities for pennies doesn't mean anything to people when ores are worth 100x more. Outside of the houses, unlawfuls could maintain their self sufficiency, more importantly, it was an important aspect of, houses have to venture into mostly lawless territory to get the precious ores they want/need. 800+ years in I severely doubt systems with or one jump away from the established lane networks would still harbor much more than depleted fields used to make the sector what it is now. Oh, but god forbid corporations have to start looking for new, resource rich regions, hire scouts, escorts, and the like to exploit those resources which would primarily fall under the control of unlawful/quasi-lawful elements since lawful forces don't patrol more remote regions lacking any form of infrastructure. But hey, who cares when we can let people easily avoid interaction by nicely laying out routes for them to ride lanes on whenever the already scarce pirate appears.

When you're trying to argue with roleplay then you should see it through as well. Trading normal commodities in roleplay is no different from trading ores, is it?

RE: 2020 Mining Overhaul, Phase 1: Price and Sellpoint Adjustments - DarkTails - 05-14-2020

Different? No. Motivating? No. Lack of sell points is a lack of commodity consumption or use. Removing sell points for a majority of commodities from a majority of places? Welp guess nobody outside houses need anything anymore. It's clear that there is 0 care about propogating activity for regions killed by the previous staff, and yet wish to worsen the case by removing opportunities for new and veteran players to go to regions like the Omicrons or deep Omegas. Why bother? Everything you'd need is in the houses. Why go to Omicron/Omega space with a load of ore when you're literally paying money to a miner with no gain so you can roleplay your organization and/or character properly? But it's obvious the devs don't care about it, because the only places that matter to them is house space.

It is kind of a different type of RolePlay. Every faction would have its reasons behind economical advances. I didn't mainly speak from the RolePlay view, but it -should be an important factor- and treated as such. Cutting these sellpoints will have RolePlay consequences, won't they? I won't see ordinary GMG vessels carry Helium-3 to Akabat for nothing, and et cetera. Order will never have enough of Iridium Ore (and Helium-3) supplies, surrounded with by its rivals. Situation isn't all about the Order, but it's an reference.

I'm not going to pretend to understand why you're complaining about ores not going to the Omicrons when Freeport 9 is a primary buyer for five of them (including the highest per-unit regular ore price by a large margin), which by the way is more than New Tokyo received.

I am also wholly unconvinced that the only way to fulfill a non-mining faction's RP is to be shipping ores in the first place.
