I did hear that Kris is now alright - lacking in the health department, but fine in contrast to what happened. I do wish I was around more to help out with the initial search, but maybe it was for the best that I stayed out time, yes?

As for myself: I'm fine. Life on Barrier Gate has been rather dull lately minus the occasional planned leave every now and then into one of the Houses for almost diplomatic talks. Sometimes I wonder, if I did the right choice to bunker down and leave behind the action-packed life I had. But hey - every once in a while I get a heartwarming "thanks" so it evens things out.

Maybe you're right. In hindsight now that I've had time to relax a little tells me boarding a cruiser at ten to one disadvantage wasn't my best idea though.

Don't know if you still associate with Viper from the Buro with your whole career switch up, but just in case you still do. Thought you'd might like to know about the fact that I just had an encounter with some grunt from the Rheinland Military asking around about her. Guy was asking civvies, throwing around cred's and even asking for it to be kept discreet.

I was expecting hate-mail, user reviews on my aug' merchandise, contracts from up top and a bunch of other things. Your name wasn't on that list, to be honest. It's good to hear you're still around doing what you do. My other side is a bit freaked out about why the Military is so suddenly interested in Viper -- the cannon fodder type, too. Always hated the Military's rank-and-file pilots, really. Most are either overzealous about their shitty remnant of an Empire or so corrupt and self serving they make me look like an angel.

Anyway, enough of that. Let me see what you've got. Best case scenario it's some fanboy wanting a date with Viper's best two arguments to any conversation. Lets just hope we don't reach a "worst case scenario".

My, my, it sounds like there is quite the goss' I need to catch up on there. Will have to see if I'll have some free time to hear it all sometime.

But onto the matter at hand. You'll find the recording below. One Karl Holzner asking questions and throwing fifty thousand my way and promising more for news of the Director. Equipment and ship was nothing interesting really so I didn't bother with scans or stuff like that. Hard to tell if it's something stupid or the ever eternal interbranch politics flaring up with something serious. Either way, I know I'd like a heads up were the roles reversed.

Plus if it happens to put someone like Viper at a mildly favourable disposition towards me, well... might as well for how little effort it takes, eh?

So... Holzner thinks Viper owes him something. That's quite funny, actually. Nevermind the mention of a "past op" that she may or may not have participated in. The red flags keep popping up wherever you look, don't they?

The something being off with the director thing is new, but if you're certain it's a bad idea, I'm willing to trust your judgement on it.

Though, I'm not quite sure how well trying to weasel into this guys motives will go with the Buro being informed. I imagine first thing they'll do is start telling the military to keep it's people in line and land Holzner in hot water with his CO. I'm pretty sure if this guy has even half a brain his guard will be up and he won't tell me a thing at all once the Buro is looped in.

Doesn't mean I'm not up for taking a stab at it, mind you, but I do have a job in the region at the moment that'll be much better off without trying to juggle this grunt as well. So, Holzner might have to wait a week or two until I wrap that up.

So, yeah, you feel comfortable holding off on talking to the Buro that long or do you want to kick this one over to another contractor if you want these answers more immediately?

Oh, and sidenote of my own in relation to that job I mentioned. You got much time for projects these days and how do you feel about the F-10 Avenger?

Let me worry about the Buro and what they'll do when all this comes to light. Because they will find out sooner or later. I reckon they'll want to understand what Holzner wants before they even approach him with a letter of reprimand and a bullet behind the base of his skull. I'll keep this on the down-low until you manage to squeeze some more intel out of the guy. It shouldn't be too hard, anyway. Guy wants this to be kept quiet, so we'll honor his wishes -- for now.

Of course, he's been so quiet about it that he talked about the Director over local frequencies, in front of civilians other than you who are known for being talkative. Kind of a dumb move, if you ask me. Whatever... we'll burn that bridge when we get there.

On the other hand, only you can manage to land a gig' in Rheinland and somehow have it related to Liberty tech. LSF poster model for 'cutting edge', no less. And -- yeah, I have nothing but time as of late. I don't fly as often as I do on account of spending so much time in the hangar. What's it to you?

Fair enough. I'll add Holzner to my list then.

Anyway, to cut a long story short for the job in question, my client slash partner managed to come into possession of some old Insurgent stock.

They've got three F-10's in a "barely whole state" as they said, most of the parts are in relatively good nick all things considered and the aforementioned client slash partner thinks there might be some credits in the parts.

Or, alternatively, they think their people might be able to cannibalize two of the ships to get one of them flying. Obviously it'd be an Avenger flying on basically scraps and the wiring would all be non-propriety.

But, that being said, it did make me think of you and all the work you put into your ARMN-90 over the years. So, I reckon in the hands of a man with your skills and resources, it just might be capable of being turned around into a gem.

So yeah, could be a fun project for yourself that leaves you with a fancy new toy, or you could get first dibs on three of the things to strip down and move the parts around on the black market. Plenty of opportunities for a guy like you really.
