Pirates, Pirate RP and Terrorists. - Guest - 07-14-2009 He's right, the Rogues are a mixed bunch of ex and new criminals, freedom fighters, dealers, smugglers, refuges and other, also, terrorists...but as thy RP now, 99% of Rogues are Terrorists...no good Pirates, Pirate RP and Terrorists. - atlantis2112 - 07-14-2009 Quote:"Real life" is not a videogame, and there is no way that a band of criminals would be able to take on and cripple the military forces of a House. And "videogame" is not "Real life". If "videogame" was "real life", we would be flying shuttles around, being stuck in orbit and taking 6 months to get off the starting planet using combustible 1 time fuels. Quote:Wrong. Consider, for example, just how stupid it would be for the thugs on your nearby street corner to attack the nearby military base. And for argument's sake, let's deal with this one. What if those thugs took out 2 or 3 cops that were getting in the way of drug smuggling. That would weaken the police force, allowing the thugs some room to breathe. And they can always hide, in their friendly ol' neighborhood Badlands. There's just no way to keep comparing Freelancer to real life. In real life, the Liberty Navy would be like the Army and the National Guard.. except the unlawfuls they deal with have equivalent firepower. On a strict Rogue vs. Liberty, the only thing Rogues lack is a long-range deployment vessel such as a Carrier, but that is irrelevant to them since they have so many hidden bases throughout Liberty. They do not have a Dreadnaught or Battleship class vessel, but they have many smaller, hit and run fighters, which is good to see. In modern day "real life", the Army has guns, planes, tanks, advanced radars, etc. while the unlawfuls have sticks, stones, some possible light heavy weapons, and AK47s. And what was King's comment on their activities? Oh, yeah, "they must be really desperate to attack this close to Fort Bush"...does that mean all those player Rogues are really desperate?... Oh there was just a Hacker Spyglass in the middle of New York... These constant attacks in New York.... How was it when New York was a no pvp system? Perhaps so many people are just randomly attacking New York that we have to revert back to that? Pirates, Pirate RP and Terrorists. - Zapp - 07-14-2009 Things are getting so bad me and the LPI's Deputy Chiefs are considering looking into getting the Dreadnought back. Outcast missileboats hunting down lone Liberators -.- Anyways, I find myself agreeing with Sindroms. Too many unlawfuls RPing as gorramn Rambo. Come outta an lane to a pirate, and four times outta five he throws out some comment about the lawful being a donut-eating munchkin followed by some comments from his guns. "You're under arrest for <etc.>" is met with "You'll never take me alive!" I can't remember the last time the LPI successfully arrested someone (escort them to behind the planet near Sugarland to the 'impound lot' and making them F1 there). Oh wait, I can... it was me that was arrested :\ Anyways, meh. Long live the Rusty Donut (aka Leavenworth) And Not Amused, not a good idea. I remember that time. Unlawfuls just sat over Manhattan laughing at the lawfuls. Without PVP, RP really dies. I'm amazed how many people dislike PVP, because seeing what the server is like without it makes me sad. I really don't like the idea either, but wouldn't you rather the police giving long role-plays with the pirates but not getting anyway or "You are under..." LPI-ship was killed by Pirate-lol. And if you come to me i'll happily role-play being arrested, sounds like fun for me and you. Pirates, Pirate RP and Terrorists. - Dejavu - 07-14-2009 Its a real pain in the backside when pirates go after lone Liberators....LIKE ME!!! Pirates, Pirate RP and Terrorists. - Guest - 07-14-2009 I really miss the Doughnut....Had some fun RP when I was still flying a Rogue indie. But I did that on my Xeno, had a LPI/BHG convoy escort my nukeless, armorless griffin to Manhattan, noone did notice that the faaaar away BS patrol was launching an attack so it seemed like my ship blew up by itself, Rped out it was an empty one....peeps were still scratching their heads. I haven't exactly been keeping up with what the Rogues are doing online ... but if what you say is correct then we've got PVPers posing as Rogues. Pirates, Pirate RP and Terrorists. - Guest - 07-15-2009 Well...what do you say about daily 8oclock lolraid of NY consisting of two dessies, seven gunboats and a bomber. |
