Should the Order be "out there"? - torchwood - 07-17-2009 i was always thinking we should expand more, since everyone thinks we are tiny being couped up in one system. That is the reason. Stop acting like this thing sprang up from nowhere. They had been sending out untested youths to collect artefacts... hardly fighting Nomads. And common enemies? Please. Soon we'll have Outcasts allied to Hessians again, or the Order allied to, mm, let's say, hmm... the Landwirtrechtbewegung due to a mutual dislike of the BHG and aliens in general. What was once a secret society with operatives everywhere, for years, is now distrusted by those that would take them in, due to association with their enemies. The Blood Dragons won't have them any more, neither will the Bundschuh. I doubt Buffalo base will be used as a launching point again, and I doubt Kress and his men will launch from Cali. Diplomatic failure much? Should the Order be "out there"? - torchwood - 07-17-2009 for once...i agree with blunt here. This much I agree. It is a diplomatic failure, but you just can't dictate that one group be friends with another and then poof, we're all lovey dovey. The Order hasn't been seen in Liberty or any house system really since Vanilla. Making them unallied with the Corsairs won't help that fact at all. The players themselves need to get out there and make deals and such. Is there anything stopping the Order from launching from Buffalo? The Rogues don't care about the Corsairs. Were there any Order ships at the RM/TBH war? I was there and so were you and I don't remember any, but no one has even talked to the Bundschuh. The reason why you don't see anybody do that is because nobody has -tried-. And as far as the Vanilla connection with the Outcasts, there really wasn't any real reason given as to their affiliations with the Outcasts. As far as we know, that might have been a dead-end. To summarize, we're just throwing around hot air. Let's wait and see if things are broken before we fix them, eh? Currently the Order is kinda cooped up in Minor. Let's see what happens. Should the Order be "out there"? - Klaw117 - 07-18-2009 I don't think the Order-Corsair Alliance and the Liberty-Order War can disappear anytime soon. The last time we tried to change either of those, Igiss wasn't too thrilled. The problem is the Order-Corsair Alliance, but it's only because people are taking it too seriously. Yes, it is an alliance, but the Order does not support the Corsairs' piracy. Rather, it's more of a military dependence. The Order needs more numbers in the war against the BHG and the Nomads and the Corsairs need the better technology. That's pretty much it. Like Lucend said, the Order could probably get away with being allies to the Corsairs and the Houses due to the special nature of the Order's RP. People just have to stop taking the Order-Corsair Alliance that seriously. By the way, if I'm not mistaken (if I am, I apologize), the Order is on good terms with the Corsairs and okay-to-good terms with the SCRA, yet the Corsairs and the SCRA absolutely hate each other. Therefore, what's to stop the Order from allying with the Houses while maintaining a military alliance with the Corsairs? Should the Order be "out there"? - Moneybags - 07-18-2009 Of course! That is what they are for, killing squishies Should the Order be "out there"? - Ortog - 07-18-2009 ' Wrote:I think the primary Militarized Order should stay in the edge worlds, but they should have undercover agents and informants throughout the colony's in nearly every faction. We, Ronin, already do. Granted we are very few but we are active. We have indie agents almost everywhere. Though we havent rewritten our faction pre-proposal we will do it soon, as soon as we have weighted all considerations. We already have ties with Zoners and with GMG, we working on establishing relationships with junkers trough their ambassador. Its all a matter of proper formal posting in forums. Be assured that the war with BHG is lower, way lower, priority to us then to stop the alien menace. We will do everything that we can to hinder the progress of their infiltration. The keepers have been doing a great job and we intend to be part of the unfolding of what will be a thrilling storyline, But we must train, gain expertise and be way better pilots in order to be worthy as a challenge. But yes, lets us get out there , we aim to do our job and achieve the goals of our mission. I agree with this. I'd love to see more Order ROLE PLAY outside the edge worlds while seeing the major military forces remain there. Research vessels foraying out, spies, scouts, small convoys of classified goods--that sort of thing. |
