Corsair Order alliance - globalplayer-svk - 08-18-2009 ' Wrote:Uhm... my personal opinion, a question, and slightly off topic. is order trhying to control? there was maked some in game and forum rp about order scientis helping corsair with it.. all in order knows, that they just can not force corsairs to stop artifact smuggling, because corsairs have money from that and they need moneyes for food. so what will order prefer? to have people inside this bussines, or to stay completely out? and you know, corsairs will not let them to stay in, when is alliance ended... and why stopping? order is trying to have under control all nomad technology, and artifacts are nomad tech. Corsair Order alliance - Canaris - 08-18-2009 ' Wrote:There are major flaws in the logic of this so called 'alliance'.Nope. Its not flawed. One thing you need to understand... In war and in love, everything is allowed. 'Lawful' is something a community makes up to keep itself organized. When that community is at risk of being destroyed, the upholding of its own laws to accept its defeat and destruction of those laws makes no sense. The Order is above 'lawful'. Its an unlawful organisation. Except that its only goal is not to make money, like the rogues. ' Wrote:First of all, in RP, the Order have far more advanced technology than any Corsair can dream of. They had some, but they stole it from where they could get it. They arent a 'house' or civilisation, like the Corsaires are. They have to relly on help from anywhere they can get. They have no own economy. ' Wrote:Just because the Titan was considerably superior to the Anubis in...A lot of things in disco are fail, like any other place. But The devs are pretty good, honnestly. Btw they did fix it by making stronger ships for liberty and other factions. ' Wrote:Secondly, much like their other allies (the Hogosha), the Corsairs are genuine artifact smugglers, clearly something the Order wouldn't tolerate.Again... why wouldnt Order tolerate artifact smuggle? Artifact smuggle makes humanities knowledge grow. ' Wrote:The Order are a very complex organization, whereas the Corsairs have a form of organization, they are still basically ruthless pirates, that would care less about the fate of manking. So, another mismatch of the two.Wrong again. The mission of the Order is relatively simple: save humanity at all costs. They might be highly educated people with a complex network of contacts, but they are a relatively small group of people with a goal that can be summed up in one sentense. The Corsairs are a whole civilasation. Thats very complex. Some individuals RP them as simplistic pirates. But Corsairs as present in FL are more 'complex' than the 'Order' organisation. ' Wrote:And thirdly, it's the devs' fault that they created Omicron Delta as a clashing point between these two factions. Why would the Corsairs build a base in Delta and not in Kappa first, I have no idea, but it lacks any logic. And as far as I'm concerned, Omicron Minor was linked to a sector of Omicron Beta, the one with the nomad lair. You dont need or build a base in every system you travel through. You build a base where you need a refuling point. ' Wrote:This stuff needs fixing, for the sake of RP. Of course, there are many people against taking action, probably because they're too attached to their factions or something, even though their stories are pretty much ridiculous due to this. ...? Corsair Order alliance - Canaris - 08-18-2009 ' Wrote:and why stopping? order is trying to have under control all nomad technology, and artifacts are nomad tech. Nope. Artifacts are Daam Kvash (stop laughing ok I dont know how to spell it) tech. Nomads themselves are very advanced DKV tech, according to the SP. Nomad tech like guns and brains ans so on are deemed to be dangerous because they might infect you, or because nomad agents will be using those. But as far as I know artifacts are DKV, not nomad. In order to overcome the nomads, humanity needs to understand the DKV. So why try to block DKV artifacts? Corsair Order alliance - Lucend - 08-18-2009 Quote:In order to overcome the nomads, humanity needs to understand the DKV. So why tr to bock DKV artifacts? It's also worth noting that for a long time we've roleplayed that there is a small group of Order on Crete that constantly scan artifacts to make sure that the events in SP don't happen again. If the Order were to cancel the alliance, then those people would have to go home and suddenly you have an unchecked number of potentially dangerous artifacts floating around Sirius. That's another point of mutual benefit: the Order gets interesting or active artifacts and the Corsairs get a bunch of useless paperweights to sell for the highest price. Corsair Order alliance - Agmen of Eladesor - 08-19-2009 One thing that my Hauler character does is, well, haul ... artifacts from Crete up into house space. But from his perspective, he's not smuggling or breaking any laws. He is taking defective Alpha Code Storage Modules to exchange for resource items. So the ones that are sold on Crete have already been scanned for anything interesting - and have been found wanting. (Think pile of defective computer chips that the primitive bio-units seem to like as trinkets to decorate their huts, and you're in line with that RP. The ways of the Harvester Machine can be odd...) Corsair Order alliance - darthbeck - 08-19-2009 i will say that the allience doesent make sense.... but it exists, so there is no point in removing it. Corsair Order alliance - Klaw117 - 08-19-2009 ' Wrote:I posted this in another topic. Looks like I'll have to do it here too.' Wrote:Okay, this is a mod design question. The Corsair/Order alliance was not set up just to assign Osiris to corsairs. It looks cool in patrols, yes, better than most custom ships would look. However, it's still not a reason. |
