Making Rheinland more attractive - Friday - 09-21-2009 In terms of Kusari-Rhineland relations: It all depends on how you want to take it. If you want to form two 'Uber-blocs' of geo-political power - then go straight to the Emperor of Kusari and forge a direct alliance. You will then have Rhineland/Kusari squared off against Liberty/Bretonia (who I might add already have a head start with their Treaty of Curacao). Remember though, this would turn individual House wars into one single bloody mess to make the Hispanic wars look like a schoolyard tiff in comparison - and would even eclipse the Nomad War with all four Houses squared off! If you dont want to up the stakes in this way, then go with your direct neighbours the GMG. They are keen to put the past behind and gain a foothold in another House commercial market - Rhineland is doubtless keen to secure a fuel supply for the war effort. Nah, it wasn't you, it was a little while back. I will talk to them... maybe I can do it. And regarding this Sirius Sector war between Kusari/Rheinland and Bretonia/Liberty... well, I doubt a status like that would last long. The Hispanic houses would gain strength as the four houses would become weaker. That's a thing which we cannot allow to happen. It would be more like cold war then. Making Rheinland more attractive - looqas - 09-21-2009 ' Wrote:There needs to be trade routes that are profitable going to and coming from EVERY house. I was about to suggest the same. It makes sense because even in Vanilla the houses where specialized in this sense. Now it seems that goods can be had about from dozen different places. Trading system now is great for wandering about since profits are really following the simple distance = profit formula. It's all too easy to flip 'y' and check where there are pirates about and go another route since the profits are the same really somewhere safer. The current system does not encourage to take risks. And the outer world routes are really easy since server load practically makes NPCs non-existed. So I suggest we put clearly that you get the top price in a house for a certain commodity in the capital of it. AND you can only buy those top price commodities from the 4 capitals. That ensures somewhat that every house is visited. Say a 200c/s is good and clearly makes the run among the best ones out there. And also it means that you run the risk of pirates too. Like many have pointed out (Jinx and other's) the ZBT and "smuggling" is the biggest reason in the drop of in-house trade-lane trading. And the less risk/hassle for the bigger pay. It's like Zoner ID = Independent trader ID now. I'd like to see this simple idea to be implemented. - House shipper IDs' get a bonus in buying/selling the RP goods. - Those RP goods are made available at the capital systems - Those RP goods get the best selling price in another house's capital system. And here we come to Rheinland. Currently NB is very hard to set up a good choke point for the occasional traders. You'll never get around in time to stop the incoming ship. The jump nodes just make it impossible. All you are going to catch up is tail-lights of the Train. None of the houses are really suited to get around that easily, but most of them have a focus of sorts that makes it worth a while for pirates to invest time to wait around for people. The only working place now is really the Stuttgart, but if there are pirates in omegas the route becomes dead in minutes. Making Rheinland more attractive - Dashiell - 09-21-2009 @ Loogas: //signed the diamond-niobium route is a good example. sure, it was powertraded to hell. but it sure livened up the space through which it went:P New Berlin was flooded with pirates, and thus lawfulls (now that the lulwut BHG indie caps are all but gone, it should be a tad better now) Sigma 13 was, well... let`s say I laughed VERY hard on multiple occasions there. Outcasts, Corsairs GMG, Bounty Huters, Dragons and GC shooting each other to pieces. traders running amok in convoys. sure, it lacked form and rp, but it was fun in most cases. and some very nice rp was also to be found there on occasions. Hunshu and New Tokyo were also far busier with pirates when the route still excisted. giving both the GV, dragons and KNF something to do. so, remake that kind of route, only less oorp. hell, make several of these high profit routes. the pirates and thus lawfulls will come pouring in again. and yes, so will the mute powertraders. but let`s be honest: they`re all in Zoner iff-ed Whales now anyway, still being as mute as ever. might as well make them serve the greater good by letting them attract life to dead systems. Possibly because of terrorist-like demands made from pirates there? Making Rheinland more attractive - Malexa - 09-21-2009 The Rheinland relations towards Kusari are still good. Also towards Bretonia. Both sides to want Rheinland as their own ally, especialy for the war. Rheinland is aware of this situation and it may have its advantages. But taking a clear side in another war would weaken themselfs. So it is better to stay the good friend of both and let them continue their touting. It is unlikely that they will start to threaten Rheinland, because both get an advantage of a good relationship. Making Rheinland more attractive - Grimly - 09-21-2009 I did read about the corsairs here : Quote:Maybe encouraging corsair activity in Rheinland? I think I'll stay on restricting the Rheinland from OPG operating systems. The only systems with could be in would be Frankfurt or Munich while chasing a cardamine transport from Sigma 13/Sigma 19, and Omega 7 if we consider this as Rheinland territory. Please let the corsairs in omegas, omicrons, sigmas and bretonia, that's big enough. ' Wrote:The Rheinland relations towards Kusari are still good. I second this. If the Rheinland get Kusari side, Kusari will have to face Liberty as well and they aren't prepared for that since most of their military fleet are in the Tau to fight Bretonia. Only solution if it even happen would to bring the Corsairs and Outcasts openly in this war and finally come to a Sirius War with 2 sides (kusary + rheinland + corsairs vs liberty + bretonia + outcasts). Both sides being strong enough for the whole Sirius destroy itself. Making Rheinland more attractive - Sprolf - 09-21-2009 But if Rheinland allies with Kusari and Bretonia and Liberty join up, that will mean we're paralleling WWII, except that the French have a chance this time! That shows how stereotypical this game is.:PAnd I guess Gallia would only stand a chance, if we focus on the lore. Otherwise Gallia is dead space. |
