Should factions receive money from the admins? - Exsiled_one - 10-14-2009 @ thomas anderson: Yes, that is quite realistic. The small taxes etc. however wouldn't it be more interesting to actually make players fund their own government? Picture it like this: ===Liberty=== Liberty has few corporations, they trade and they receive cash monthly from their members who trade with their commodities. Corporations has duties to make sure everything runs smoothly, but so does Liberty police etc. Liberty government funds Liberty Police by taking tax from corporations and taking tax from all vessels trading in liberty space for example. (small tax ofc, something like RM has done) So you have Liberty government making 300k from every 5k trader, and not taxing corporation traders at all. Corporations tax their members for 30mil a month or so, and from those 30, they send 10 to the government. Government earns around 100mil a month, and they decide to fuel 50mil into national security, and they do so, keeping 50mil in their own pockets. Within few months, government has about few billions, and they can fund LPI quite safely, even hire some help if LPI needs it to protect them vs pirates. Liberty government can then also sponsor new corporations rising in liberty by buying out shares of those companies, earning themselves new steady income and earning themselves long term profit from the shares. This way we remove admins from the entire story, as it should be. Should factions receive money from the admins? - Colonel.Tigh - 10-14-2009 Nice idea Ivan, the shippers could give their Navys a lift, Kishiro and Samura finance the KNF, Dauman and Repex the RM, Bowex and BMM the BAF and so forth, this way the Navys are a bit more motivated to protect their Traders. And the corps could donate some cash to the bountys their Govs hand out. Should factions receive money from the admins? - Exsiled_one - 10-14-2009 And don't forget that government could tax traders, like it's done now in RM. Based on cargo and commodity. Also, maybe a program can be made as well to take like 5% of every time you hit sell and pour it into government bank. I'm just throwing ideas here and pointing them where I'ld like things to be pointed. Should factions receive money from the admins? - .shed - 10-14-2009 I don't like the idea of Factions getting money for nothing. As a player who has yet to join a faction it seems like a bit of a slap in the face to us indie players, however I can see the logic in it. I have no doubt there is alot of work involved in running a faction, and earning your credits is a full time job. A long tedious full time job. If this were to go ahead it would mean less traders? Thats the impression I get and I don't believe having less traders is a good thing. What if Factions were to receive interest on their money? Designate a Bank Account and it can accrue a small percentage of interest every week/month. That way you'll still need your traders, you won't have to stress out as much over your hard earned pennies. I have absolutely no idea if its possible or if someone has already suggested it, I admit I didn't read the last 5-6 pages. Should factions receive money from the admins? - looqas - 10-14-2009 A while ago I tried to put forward that admins would give a prize money for a faction of the month competition. A faction that has been exemplary in the server would receive the prize. How to judge which one is the problem though. Or give out a prizes in each house. The winner of the house could be voted by the public not allowing to vote any of the factions you are in. I voted no. While it is tedious for faction leaders (and members) to grind out the money of the faction it's just that I'm not comfortable giving allowance. Should factions receive money from the admins? - Seth Karlo - 10-14-2009 Dear god, this is turning into typical Disco discussions. Repeat what's already been said, ignore anything that defeats you and never shut up. Someone, please dear god, LOCK THIS! It has done it's purpose! Should factions receive money from the admins? - Tomtomrawr - 10-14-2009 Everyone is repeating eachother now, this topic has served it's purpose, LOCK IT NOW! :P And my answer to the poll: Indeed. And Seth, it is time to spread destruction in Bretonia! Should factions receive money from the admins? - Seth Karlo - 10-14-2009 I asked Igiss to lock it: [18:10:57] Seth Karlo: COuld you lock that please? [18:12:03] Alexander Zalessky: Hello [18:12:04] Alexander Zalessky: yes [18:12:13] Seth Karlo: Appreciated [18:12:51] Alexander Zalessky: and No. [18:12:58] Alexander Zalessky: And we're even in majority. [18:13:06] Seth Karlo: Sorry? [18:13:15] Alexander Zalessky: I mean I voted no. -.- [18:16:13] Alexander Zalessky: Maybe feature that poll on the main page:P *Sighs* When the almighty Igiss is bored, he toys with his prey >.< Should factions receive money from the admins? - Angelfire - 10-14-2009 ' Wrote:I asked Igiss to lock it: Ha! Technically 18 said 'Yes' but only to certain factions + 41 that said 'Yes' = - So the Yesmen are in the lead! :yahoo: Edit: make that 42 + 18 woot! Should factions receive money from the admins? - X-Lancer - 10-14-2009 i would say use FLHook to give Faction Mission..like on Planet Malta, you take an Cardi smuggling mission...the reward is something like 30 million. I hate seeing Disco being a MMORP (You sit in front of your computer trading ALL DAY LONG just for the stuff you want to buy and wasting your life). |
