I use 500 credits par cargo unit as a nice way for "guideline" cash.

Means 2.5 mil for 5k transport.

If I'm pirating in freighter I ask for a bit less money but for them to fill my full hold (on freighters that's about 500 units).

Greedy miners=Those who run, fight, die without saying more than two words then want to whinne over private comms then go onto the forums and whine some more.

Out of all the people that I have pirated almost none have even tried to do any type of RP and just whine about the price. When I meet a miner who attempts to RP for a reason other than stalling for a gank squad of backup then... I actually don't know.

:O I know your frustration in regards to the LOLpirates..... drives me up the wall not only is trading or carrying mined goods TEDIOUSLY long and boring lacking almost all form of RP you then get to the system you want to go an you see a pirate you suddenly get excited becaused it might be your chance for some LONG desired RP chit chat but then you either get LOLWUTed made demands of an as soon as you don't give a sniff of your automatically fulfilling them in seconds you are blown away hence making the last hour of boring trip into naught an misery.

:(I only get greedy lolpirates it makes me CRY! I've only had like 1 molly give me decent roleplay as far as I can remember.

:)I laugh at the ones that kill you after you try going around them they just cut your home trip down by an hour.

Edit::)I want a better being pirated experience. Its gotten to the point trading is so tedious I would rather just play on my fun characters broke without batts and botts

Been here over two years and have never been successfully pirated. I don't trade a lot, but enough to be a target. If you are clever about your trading then you'll be able to avoid the pirates, whatever you are hauling, and where ever you are hauling it to.

Piratical demands should relate to the cargo carried. Loads of high value cargo (eg silver ore), expect a high demand. Low value cargo (eg food, water etc) expect a low demand. If I catch you when you're empty you can still expect to pay me something. Your ship has value after all. All the traders who bitch about getting pirated when they're empty and it being OoRP need to remember that. Demands should NEVER be based on the level of the trader being pirated, and will never be when I'm doing the piracy.

Hrm... I think I've been pirated about... three times on my entire time in discovery, maybe four, so really, I can't say an average, regardless, all times, the cash demand has been less than 2 million, and the cargo piracy was a full, although, I had less cargospace, so yeah.

If everythings fallows my canon (which I rarely fallow) 500 credits per cargo unit. Unless the trader moves nuclears or ore.

I do 500k for the average transport. I don't touch anything with >1000 cargo, and 1 million from 4k+ transports.

Pirating is not a way to make money, it's a way to have roleplay interactions. You're more likely to get those interactions if you ask a feesable amount. Ask too high and you're going to get traders that simply run away.

Why isn't pirating a way to make money?
Honest to god, I would love if all pirate factions had a rule like LH do.
No cash from outside the damn faction. That basically means you're up to yourself, and your fellow recruits.

You start slow, with a damn ship that LH / pirate faction gives you.
Let's say that the cash amount is... 5mil. That basically means one poorly equipped Barghest. And man, if you want that ship to pirate, you better get him guns and armor. 500 hold.. Bah. Best choice is to shoot NPC's while you repup because you can't really afford the damn bribe.

Wow, when you pirate that first 2mil, it sounds like tons of money.
After that, pirating for cargo seems better, because... What cash can you really use but the piracy cash?

Hopefully more pirate factions are like this.
Piracy is a great way to make money for pirate needs.

Do you know who made powertraders? Corsairs / Outcasts / Lawfuls that can't bother to trade with those people, so they buy a zoner transport. WOOO its 4.84 everyone to the diamonds run. Go burn.
RP win.

Fly a Shire and when the Sails ask you to stop watch them run for their lives as you kill the 1st one ..who has already started shooting you without a word of engagement, And then for fun tell them to pay YOU or dai hahahahahaha. I never pay 1 cent to a parasitic Sail Pirate. Other decent pirates yes i play along.
