gaian VHF - Marburg - 07-16-2010 The whole issue of 'unworthiness' is simply a matter of opinion & I can't help but scoff at it Personally, I believe that any faction that can maintain official status for one year is worthy of a shipline Sometimes it's difficult being a Gaian, because it's hard for us to play 3 dimensional characters in a one dimensional faction...yet in spite of that limitation we (NLH) been able to maintain official status for about 3 years now (even though at some points in our history it was only by the skin of our teeth) by maintaining a base of players in the double digits that pretty much remains constant. When we loose a player, we gain a player. For my part, I spend most of my time developing Gaian culture & trying to convey that sense of history as best I can on the server & being the best Gaian Cheerleader I can when RL isn't in the way. ![]() gaian VHF - schlurbi - 07-16-2010 You forget that your greatest Enemy is not active, nor is a Faction and I am probably owning the only existing Planetform Trade Ship. gaian VHF - Marburg - 07-16-2010 You make a good point Schlurbi, but in the grand scheme, a lack of planetform players is not the end all-be all of what keeps us Gaians on the fringes of visibility...It's simply an issue of time, motivation & inertia on our part. One of the things the Gaians have that planetform doesn't is a larger base of players with a fanatical love for their faction...for months now, the time I'm able to devote to the server is limited, but I'll be more than willing to do what I can when I can to help you prop up planetform & make them more appealing for players. Just FYI. That's the current status of the hitbox. gaian VHF - kingvaillant - 07-16-2010 Shield bubble on the ship is currently too far back, which may cause some issues with the aim assist cross. Hence why the Hitbox is not 100% ready atm. Otherwise I would have submitted it a long while ago. Do you people even read what i write...sometimes i wonder...i clearly said that we will work on debugging in latter stages of development...fixing shield bubble goes under debugging and its not THE HIGHEST priority gaian VHF - DAnvilFan - 07-17-2010 I think it's a very strange mentality when mod content such as ships is developed based on the performance of a player faction on one particular server. There are many servers and many people who play Discovery as a singleplayer. Games should be developed from a neutral perspective regardless of what goes on in servers -- unless it's a widespread gameplay mechanic issue. |
