Moving to 4.78 - Korrd - 11-30-2005 Strange. FL executable acts as a server all the time.... When DGC mod is installed, the exe version is overwritten with a different version (the onli change to the exe is the version number and the NO-CD modification). So ZA detects the change and ask the user what to do. Act as a server means that the program can also accept incoming connections... FL executable acts as a server all the time....I know it always tries to acts as a server, but for a client only, this can be denied with normally no ill effects. I'll give it a go and see what happens. I can understand that firewall setting being needed to run a server, but it shouldn't be necessary for a client connection, and hasn't been in the past (and I don't recall it being necessary for any other client-only game). My concern is just that I don't normally run servers from this particular PC, due to some other work stuff on it. Moving to 4.78 - Igiss - 11-30-2005 I didn't add any modifications to 4.77 exe files. Even version number remains the same, so I don't know what's wrong... Quote:The solaris chaingun shoots are invisible.Checked. I'm sure they are visible. Probably you were confused by the fact they consume all energy immediately, Solaris was developed for battleships, so that's not surprising. The shoots are visible some times, but most of the times they became invisible, then visible... the green glow on the gun is there, the shields of the target glow when hit, but the shoots remain invisible. It looks like the tizona, whose shoots are invisible, but in green instead of light red... Ive taken some screenshoots. I will post them once i reach home.. Moving to 4.78 - Angel - 11-30-2005 Well that allows for a Secret attack actually, maybe we can keep it??, well its just a thought ;) Moving to 4.78 - Met2085 - 11-30-2005 Question: Is the Toledo in omican minor suppost to have a morring fixture? Because it would be nice to have BS's and ships of big size to dock with the Order's Base Moving to 4.78 - Igiss - 11-30-2005 Met2085,Nov 30 2005, 08:49 PM Wrote:Question: Is the Toledo in omican minor suppost to have a morring fixture? Checked Xit's problem btw, with same ship and same cargo, but didn't encounter any problems. Moving to 4.78 - Angel - 11-30-2005 Don't know how to even get there lol, guess i aught to pull out the old star charts!! If you mean that the invisible shoots cannot be traced back to source... well, it is difficult to miss a battleship 750m away that is firing you 21 beams of energy just because the shoots are not visible... now, if the weapons range were, erm... 10k, then the ship wont show on the sensors, and the invisible shoots would make difficult tracing shoots back to source... Now, that would be a nice weapon... a long range high speed torpedo (or beam weapon)... you can hide in a nebula and wait for a ship to shoot at :) Moving to 4.78 - Igiss - 11-30-2005 Quote:Now, that would be a nice weapon... a long range high speed torpedo (or beam weapon)... you can hide in a nebula and wait for a ship to shoot atUnfortunately I don't know how it can be done. It should be very fast to hit target on such a long distance, which will make it unavoidable on a closer range. Hit light fighter with an uber-fast torpedo? No, don't get me into this. |
