These guys have been bugging me for a few days with there nomad ships i have told them more than once to change there ships as they are out of RP.

Even spent 1 hour in NY bugging them to see which "admin" they had said it was okay when they said nightfall i was shocked as hes not the kinda guy to laps on RP. So i left em to it and now i know they were lies that they were speaking.

as for human guns on a nomad.....

you cant tell, ingame..any guns that you can mount on the lf ingame have human models.....
and there is no nomad torpedo mount, so unless you want a really underpowered ship, one needs that human torpedo.

and anyhow....we have spaceship sized animals...its not that far to go to assume spaceship cyborgs...

also, the torpedo mount replaces a lack of both countermeasure and mine, and the fact that there is no nomad heavy fighter...so it is still reasonably balanced..

Yes I agree it is well balanced as a piece of hardware. Thats why I like to fly one... its challenging to defend against attack from virtually any other fighter, cruiser or battleship.

Discovery mod is the only mod I've played where the nomad ships are unlocked. Sure there may be others and just to be honest about this... Discovery isn't my favorite mod... but its my second favorite because of the nomad ships. I aint interested in the bigger ones but love flying about in my little light fighter.

Sure we can sit around for days discussing how in-RP or out of RP it is to use one.... we can make up stories as to why this or why that... but its all hypothetical. and subjective. [Personally i think if a ship is available for purchase, then like the nomad weapons it has obviously been 'modified' to carry a human pilot.]

The bottom line is I have one... and am confused as to whether there is a restriction on whci IDs i can use.
Terrorist? Order? Pirate? Neutral? Coalition?

Is there a written rule for this somewhere cause having spent 40 mins reading this entire thread I'm still no closer to the answer. I'm just trying to respect the rules of the RP server in which i play.

Coalition id, xenos tag is about the closest i would say.


Just because it pretty much makes you hostile to everyone like a nomad should be.

well actually closes would be Phantom ID....but also...not the best choice.

Xenos are Liberty terrorists and they operate there only. Coalition are remnant of wining faction back from Earth.

I would advise generic Pirate ID with maybe Xenos or Phantom guard tag. That would make u pretty red to everyone and Pirate ID would gave u most freedom of movement. But since u RP nomad...there are few system where they reside. Also there is small matter of your reputation towards nomads. It would be silly to fly Nomad ship and RP like nomad while NPC nomads of them fire at u.

(But once i had a dream to fly in Nomad ship with only nomad weapons and their ID with disabled tractor beam. Green only to nomads and full red to rest of sirius. It seems it will remain only a dream...;))

phantoms are locked....as well as nomads and wild.

you need an admin to make you freindly to them...ergo, no tag or id.

Dream, eh?

Seen tis nomad matter solved. Proven, old-time players on the server (Blue knights actually) could ask the admins for the nomad ID for a specified nomad-to-be character. Condition to get it was making the ship as nomad only with STRICT nomad RP. Could be done here, applications for the IDs were confidential, noone would know, who had a nomad ship, unless the recepient wanted otherwise.

But how could they RP when they are a nomad?

Nomadships are unknown organisms, so how could they use the human system channel for example, or how could they speek or know the languages of the humans?

If you be aware of this nomad RP is going to be a silent predator who is attacking anyone who is stupid enough to get in his way.

But think about genmutations or genmanipulating, so if the nomads have got an infested human, they could manipulate his gens or combinate them with their own to 'create' an human - nomad hybrid.
