Also, 90m/sec missiles can be CM'd and avoided much easier than a 600m/sec ball of energy. Quote:Anyway... guns are better! And yes, guns are "better" that is what I am hoping to see fixed. There is no reason to have 20 kinds of missiles in the game if 18 of them suck compared to guns. Variety is the key here, otherwise we'll all be armed the same and *yawn* isn't that so much fun. Does anyone mount missiles on fighters? - Korrd - 09-23-2007 Skilled players can be hit, but you need to know about that moment when a missile is impossible to avoid. The difference between a skilled player and a normal one is that the skilled one, knowing that you have missiles, will fly erratically, and will try to force you to use all your missiles. Only after you run out of ammo [s]he will begin to play offensively. Patience... That's the difference... Does anyone mount missiles on fighters? - Locke - 09-23-2007 KORRD... King Of Rapidfire Rocket Destruction. He knows what he's talking about. I almost always mount a missile on my fighters. Even if you don't know how to use them, it's good for keeping the enemy's head down. Most people freak out a little when they hear "incoming missile" and sometimes that's all you need. With enough explosives, you'll disarm your opponent and he'll be forced to shamefully retreat, and leave you laughing at his total pwnage. Probably the best thing going for missile use is that people either use too many, or none at all. With just one or two mounted, you can be an unpredictable foe-- unpredictability being the key to dogfighting. Does anyone mount missiles on fighters? - Korrd - 09-23-2007 Ah, deterrence... My favourite. Nothing is funnier than freaking out the opponent... They panic and think that a Cannonball is heading at them whilst your 6 guns pulverise them. Does anyone mount missiles on fighters? - Virus - 09-24-2007 Eh, I've learned to ignore missile warnings, mostly. The way I fly (and always have flown) leaves missiles in the dust. If they're CD's, they don't generally do much. And it only takes one shot from you for me to realize what kind of missile you're firing. If it hits me, its a CD.:P Oh, and blunt... You can't always think that your six guns are going to pulverize. I think we need a dogfight one of these days. >.> Does anyone mount missiles on fighters? - bluntpencil2001 - 09-24-2007 Sure. Best in the PvP server, in ships that haven't been seriously altered. I'll fly my Titan (although it isn't properly armed:(). I'll do my old 'ignore the damn missiles' stunt like you do, and hopefully it won't bite me in the ass. |
