I don't think there's anything wrong with taking inspiration. But I think it's ideal to give credit to the original work.
Not saying that's absolutely the case here. Maybe it's a total coincidence.
IMHO I don't think that the model looks to close to the eve model you showed, not that it matters much xD
Anyhow, I still think the model itself isn't fitted for Phantoms but maybe for someone else?

As for the model itself, I would have to agree with Morgan on how it would/could lure someone into the false sense of security, but this doesn't strike me at all scary, or threatening. Though the idea of the ship being vertical is a concept to keep.
