You are right, Amit. Tau 23 is indeed a trouble-some system, full of activity, both trading and fighting.
And the fact that brigands and council can leave gallic space makes them more willing to come on-line rather than GRN players that prolly just log in, there's nobody to talk to and log out.

What is the conditions to be met to maintain officialdom?
I believe it's 5 or more active players with over 30 hours between them.
If thats the case, does that mean it could be 4 players with 5 minutes and one with 30 hours that maintains officiality?
If thats true, could a ship be set up off the plane and then I go to work and leave it there and maintain my factions officiality?

It's not something I would do so please, no threats.
I am asking out of interest as I have seen at least one unresponsive faction ship on the chat screen but never been able to find it. In some cases for the best part of five hours and that 5 hours allows a lot of searching time.
Then, when the reset happens, these ships seem unable or unwilling to relog.

Anyhow, just wondering.

Thats why if the gallic event was to proceed on, gallia would have more activity. just think of it, people got bored from phase 1 simple as that. You are fighting almost the same people day after day, it gets really boring.

Give gallic lawfuls something to do, stop restricting them to the bone, and activity will rise.

@ blubba
Sadly yes. It includes being in Connecticut too.

Why sadly? if someone is doing it, he is not really active is he?
EDIT: Or being in conn, oorp inviroment, he doesn't contribute to the RP of the server by being there.

And yet it counts towards activity time. That's why it's sad that people do it to keep official status.
...
Where the brand™ is more important than quality to those.

Anyone found doing this faces having their ship(s) deleted, not to punish them, but to save them from a hobby for which they have no love.

As for not being able to locate factions when you're on ...

Math Problem
Given the server averages 100 players online at once
Given the server is up 24 hours a day for 30 days
Given that a faction needs 30 player hours per month

Calculate the percentage of total server activity a faction needs to stay official

Solution
Total server activity comes to 100x24x7=16800 total player hours per week
or about 72000 total player hours per month

A faction needs a mere 30 player hours per month

which is, um, lemme see.... 30/72000 X 100/1 = around .04% of total server activity..

This is pantswettingly low, considering how much responsibility and power official factions have. I spend more time on the toilet in an average month than the entire members of some factions. (I have not actually timed my toilet visits this month but I may have to.)

Athenian, you make me chuckle

Also...
Quote:As for the Molly-Rogue thingie...it needs a small clarification.

The shared part, so the shipline, it's controlled by the Rogues now, and it makes sense. What about Trefoils and Saoirse, as someone said? Are they open use? rolleyes.gif (for white cells, intended)

@Athenian

So, if a certain faction was doing all but PvPing in their home system (This is merely a supposition, I have no idea if it is really happening, I mean you just have to check the Player List and hop in game for the death messages to see it's totally untrue), what would happen ?
