' Wrote:Actually, Discovery PvP is diverse. Well, only the domination of Nuke mines is pretty evident. But apart from that, people use a myriad of guns, ships and equipment

Sabre + Codenames + Debs + Nuke mines + AU8 + Enh. Thruster + Champion shield

What myriad

You are exaggerating. Above may be a good, even common set up, but you really cannot say everyone flies it.
Besides, "Codenames" can mean a lot, there are many of them.
Also, Mini Razor or TCD?

- I played on Flak server sometimes before, when a friend of me in this community told me to test it. There, there was turret steering. Of course the game is different, the ship too (I mean for classification and control).

On our server, now they decided to do it. I say : Finaly !

Why ? It's simple, and there are a lot of reasons.

. If you decide to vote No to turret steering it means that you are an egoist.

. When you spend 40 milions for a vessel plus his armor between 15 and 800 milions, it's really sad when you die against two bombers which cost less than 30 milions each.

. And on a lot of ship (Capital ship) you can fire at 360 degrees, without turret steering so it's like you are piloting a big fighter.

. Each game need an evolution, it will be good or bad for each person. But I think this is a good idea to make it. Now we can talk about a real simulation, it's far more complicate to pilot a ship in turret view (when you are begining), but you can think about tactic while piloting now. Before it was basic fights, you face your target, use EK, reverse, Facing, EK, etc... etc... Woooo very interesting (sarcasm)

Now while piloting you can think about how to move to take less damage and to force him to follow you or to position your ship behind, above, under your target... It's really interesting and you can finaly think about a tactic while fighting.

. About the Zoom, it's (sorry) it was a damn good thing. But I agree too good in experienced hands (For all ship class fighters to BS). But I think that we can keep it, but a different zoom for every ship class, around ship range weapons, 600m to 800m for fighter and gunboats, 800m to 1000m for bombers, 1500m - 2500m for cruisers and 2500m - 4000m for BS.

Well for now, due to the time I don't have something else to tell about this. Maybe later.

P.S. : Before to vote, test it, hate it or love it but make constructive vote/answers. Thanks;)

A 'No' from me for enabling turret steering for fighters and frighters. In my opinion it is just too OORP that a single pilot in a Sabre suddenly is able to shoot about 90 degrees while continue flying with the ship. How should that work? A pilot only has two arms and two hands. With one hand controlling joystick with the other hand the speed regulator or whatever. In addition to this is the fired matter of guns anyway flying illogical lines. A cannon should be only able to fire to the direction where it is aimed on. But ok. That's Freelancer so that's acceptable. But increasing the possibility of completely illogical flight lines of projectiles? No thanks. Enable it for caps but not for smaller vessels imho.

We have jump gate technology, ships that can stay in space forever and more importantly, ship computers that can calculate and display predicted flight-path of pretty much unlimited number of ships around BUT it cannot operate the guns while in fight with ONE ship so pilot can focus more on the maneuvering. Thats what you say, right..?

True, true. But that shouldn't make it possible to fire your guns in a sharper angle while flying than possible before.

The permitted rotation angles of the weapon mounts are not changing. I don't see where the problem is.

Actualy, it does... If i fire them myself, i fire only where i see the enemy while i also have to pay attention where i am flying to(one eye on the road with the other one watches as my GF's chest jiggles because of bad road (i like bad roads))...

Computes can watch my enemy regardless of his position around so i just focus on maneuvering( i haz a camera so i can drive safely, i pay attention to road AND i wont miss any...(you got the point))

Yeah.... bored, in school for 13 hours and i miss my GF's boobs...

Quote:Using this thing will COMPLETLY DESTROY THE PVP RULES SET 7 YEARS AGO!!Think of the beauty of pvp,how cool it is now,and how uncool it will be with this on!What is better?a pvp where skill matters,or a pvp where both sides use a "cheat",and where luck will decide who will win?because lets be honest,if u get the hang of this thing, nothing can stop you, except other player with turret steering.Basicaly, both sides zoom at extreme distances, maneuver with keyboard(this is against basic pvp rules, you maneuver with mouse, and strafe with keyboard,if you set the maneuver controls to the keyboard you will never be able to do the things you could do with the mouse cuz u wont have the same flexibility ) ,barely move your cursor and just hope you'll win. That aint skill, that is noobishm.

Should be read, as "OMG I Can't turretsteer your skill is higher then mine nerfnerfnerf!!!11" ?

Thanks, but no. This feature is awesome, even if I'm total noob in it due to lack of training. And capital ships need it as well.

EDIT: Cannon, give us back the turret zoooooom. Freelancer RTS ftw! Q_Q

Yeh, lets reset what it means to be a good pilot. Plus, that static turret view camera really makes the action feel so much more epic. I mean c'mon; freelancer is a point and click action game at heart right?

Goodbye engine kill, you had a good run.

Hello steering with my keyboard like its 1995!
