Zone 21 / Alaska rule Enforcement - Angelfire - 04-29-2008 SA and LSF should actually be the guards at the gate. It makes perfet sense.. Navy guarding a Navy-only Sector. Bounty Hunters in Alaska... There are prisons for the nasties... why would the bounty hunters who deliver these nasties not be present? no reason whatsoever... Zone 21 / Alaska rule Enforcement - Walker - 04-29-2008 In Singleplayer, wasn't there Weapons Platforms there? Perhaps add Guard Weapons Platforms around the gate? I agree SA/LSF/BHG should all be allowed here.:) All else shot on sight. In my honest opinion Close it/make the gate vanish/lock it /put 10 nomad BS's on alaska side. If 1 can enter all can enter.RP is what you make it.Anyone can make a RP reason how they got there. If 1 person does not like the RP so what? what is fun RP for 1 maybe not fun for the next guy.THAT IS RP PURE AND SIMPLE. I would vote close it.Then all are equal.lawful/unlawful/neutral.:) Zone 21 / Alaska rule Enforcement - timmychen - 04-29-2008 ' Wrote:In my honest opinion Close it/make the gate vanish/lock it /put 10 nomad BS's on alaska side. Close it -> No RP in Alaska, period. Bad. Make the gate vanish -> No Order/LSF RP. Bad. No SP either. Semi-bad. Lock it -> Less RP opportunities. Somewhat Bad. Put 10 nomad BS's on Alaska's side -> This means that the only ones with access to Alaska are Keepers. Very bad. Anyone could throw an RP reason at us, but it's not always a good one. Things like a xeno saying "Oh, I hacked it" is warranting a shot in the face. RP is when any and every situation is possible, and people are entrusted not to go and do anything stupidly OORP. Unfortunately, not everyone is that good. Zone 21 / Alaska rule Enforcement - chovynz - 04-29-2008 Never having been there myself - Is there a path or a maze you have to follow to get there from NY? What about lining the path with LSF or Navy aligned wep platforms with uber guns? Then the only problem would be new players who are already aligned. There's no reason why an LSF or Navy couldn't get the NAVY ID and sell them to players after an appropriate fee and proven training. Once they have the ID they can get the other things themselves. Maybe After thinking about this I think im starting to understand how difficult it is to balance things. Zone 21 / Alaska rule Enforcement - timmychen - 04-29-2008 IDs are really only your tractor beams, they serve no other in-game purpose. Your status with other factions is.. well, still your status. Transferring of IDs are illegal. It's not so much a path, the Zlaska jump gate is surrounded by a giant minefield, with a single, small hole. Zone 21 / Alaska rule Enforcement - DarkSaber - 04-29-2008 IDs are a bit more than just a tracor beam since they explicitly dictate what you can and can't do when you have one. Your ID is an integral part of the character your supposed to be playing. Zone 21 / Alaska rule Enforcement - timmychen - 04-29-2008 Perhaps I should clarify: Other than a tractor beam, your ID does not affect your status with the official factions you'd see listed in your Player Status. Zone 21 / Alaska rule Enforcement - DarkSaber - 04-29-2008 Ahhh, much clearer now! Carry on! Zone 21 / Alaska rule Enforcement - sovereign - 04-29-2008 Noticed the discussion of locking the gate: Why not kill the jumphole in Omicron Minor instead? It makes FAR less sense, as the reason Walker sacrificed himself was because Alaska was a "dead-end system". If they could have just flown off to Minor instead, they'd have an extra cruiser beating up the Nomads in the final mission. The whole jumphole from Minor seems weird, given you have to follow this elaborate (and bloody near impossible) mission to get through the jumpgate on the other side of Sirius instead of flying some 20k... Kill the other side's jumphole. And put one in that goes to Iota, the Alaska end out in a corner somewhere. That way, Nomads can still get into Alaska, LSF can still get into Alaska, but you have no reason to just barge through there. Any problems with this? |
