Liberty Assault Battlecruisers, and Bounty Hunters - Xing - 06-18-2008 slaughter 'em. Signed/ No and no I have 2 BH char's. 1 in a BH GB yes it is not great, but it is BH built. 1 in a BH BS , and i personally love it. It handle's better then all other BS's other then the order, and great firing arc's. Before my BS i flew the B cruiser, and anyone who say's it suck's doe's not know how to fly it. I took out 2 count them 2 Corsair cruiser's in Gamma's rocky hell 1 on 2. Do not mock the ship, mock the pilot. As King valiant said KOS for stealing a lib cap, and he is in high comman, I will also KOS said ship's at a reduced price for the LSF/SA/LNS. Liberty Assault Battlecruisers, and Bounty Hunters - Photuin - 06-18-2008 Exceptions just complicate things. Voted "no" on both. Liberty Assault Battlecruisers, and Bounty Hunters - centauri5pirate - 06-18-2008 Definitely not. We have our own line of ships from fighters all the way to battleships. Voted no on both... no exceptions should be made. Liberty Assault Battlecruisers, and Bounty Hunters - Jinx - 06-18-2008 i wonder - does the strict "no" to both ( from so many ) extend to all factions that have their own shipline? - or is that a unique judgement over the BHG. - especially the "no exceptions" is what i find strange ( if not funny ). no exceptions = no matter how plausible and well executed the roleplay ? Liberty Assault Battlecruisers, and Bounty Hunters - centauri5pirate - 06-18-2008 Any faction that has their own ship line shouldn't be using another's. When it comes to large vessels, battlecruisers, destroyers, battleships, etc. I doubt very highly if any faction, especially a military house one would let anybody but their own purchase and pilot one. A lot of factions require their own to get permission from the heads of state before being allowed one. Gunboats are a little different in my opinion. I don't see an issue with a BH flying a Liberty Gunboat, but there should still be a good reason as to why said pilot bought one since the BH has their own line of gunboats as well. Perhaps a little RP story on the forums or a valid RP story ingame to the questioning faction would do. I also believe anyone wishing a destroyer or bigger ship should also be required to have a Guard tag before being allowed to buy one. This would definitely cut down on the capwhores. Anyone going through the hassle of getting a Guard tag has dedication to their faction and has earned the right to get one, not just every Tom, Dick, and Harry who powertrades to make the money to get it. Owning a monster ship is a responsibility, not to be taken lightly. RP is paramount when flying one of those babies. When you see one, scan it. Is it carrying a spaceship crew? Food, Water, engine components for the engineer? Pharmaceuticals for the Med officer? A small cache of light arms, in case it's boarded by pirates? It's definitely not necessary, but to me, it's what I carry on my BH Guard Battlecruiser, because I feel it strengthens my RP as a whole. I didn't get my cruiser to rampage, hunt, kill, maim, and destroy. I take a genuine pleasure in flying it around occasionally, usually just talking to people and slaughtering some NPC criminals. Not to hunt and kill players. 99% of the time I avoid conflicts in it. But that's just my opinion..... And to Jinx....IF the RP is plausible and well executed, I believe it should be allowed, but part of that roleplay should be the approval from the leaders of the owning faction. If RP'ed right, I see no reason for them to deny a pilot the purchase of one. Liberty Assault Battlecruisers, and Bounty Hunters - Jinx - 06-18-2008 "And to Jinx....IF the RP is plausible and well executed, I believe it should be allowed, but part of that roleplay should be the approval from the leaders of the owning faction. If RP'ed right, I see no reason for them to deny a pilot the purchase of one." this is all i want to see from the people. - the willingness to accept and respect the roleplay as the basis of the playstyle and the ship we fly. - i can live with that - even support that of course. - but i will never support a "no, no exceptions made" - unless the people saying that are consequent enough and purge everyone on the server with extrodinary roleplay and out of the ordinary ships. ( and that would mean to fight against some well established and executed roleplay then - but if they did not go against those, too - i d suggest a moral discrepancy there ) really, thats all i wish ppl would see ... IF the RP is good enough, then everything is possible. - this little explanation of RP includes nothing about the chances - and it does not include ppl that like to fly the bigger ship to own others. - it can also be someone that wants nothing so bad as to fly a cavalier light fighter, even if he s a member of the gaians. ( i know its about capships - but again, why should we have different roleplay standards for bigger ships - as i wrote in the other thread - different responsibilities - yes, different roleplay - no ) what i don t like is a point blank "no, no exceptions" - that kills roleplay out of the tight limitations of a faction and disallows the really interesting stories and aspects. not everyone that wishes to fly another factions ship is after a more powerful vessel. Liberty Assault Battlecruisers, and Bounty Hunters - Linkus - 06-18-2008 Considering the threat a Battleship poses in comparison to a Bomber, I'd say a bomber would need equal, if not more, roleplay requirements. Liberty Assault Battlecruisers, and Bounty Hunters - ryoken - 06-18-2008 I said no to both, BUT and a big BUT if they have a great story on how they got said ship, i will accept it. I saw not 1 but 2 BH's in Lib B cruiser's yesterday in my junker. 1 said nothing when i asked why a lib ship, and other said Bite me on open channel's in NY. SOOOO as i see it. They have no RP for those ship's,and the answer i saw here? Because they look better??? Bloody hell. They should be KOS just for that alone. To factions that have their own ship line which includes every class of ship, and don't have a close connection with a particular ally (e.g. Order with Corsairs, so Bs use the M26). |
