Treewyrm and two others. Outcasts and Nomads - Srkad - 06-23-2008 ' Wrote:Sorry bud, that attitude is gonna make me keep you awaaaaaaaay from Liberty. And if I see you again, on any of my chars, you're an enemy for me. Dude, that doesnt matter, any nomad in liberty space is KoS anyway, so even if u werent there i'd still get shot...i dont see your point -_- ' Wrote:I've been a witness to many accounts that he's retold. Thank you, this actually means a lot to me. I'll admit now that docking on malta was not a good idea, and now i know that. Before i didnt know, and you can all say "you shoulda looked into it before you did it". and to that i say, my rp with a nomad was very limited and visas made it seem like it was no big deal, if it was at the time why hadnt any of the nomads told me? Also on a side note, i got the outcast tag to buy a pirate id. i got rid of it shortly after. =P ' Wrote:Alright, guess i'm going to have to step in and clear this whole mess up. Not only this, but the shield hard point is only level 9 as well, this makes me die very very easily. Any where in the nomad npc systems, it doesnt matter if you are 30k up or down, or 50k up or down, nomad npcs will spawn where ever you are, so all ill be able to do is run away all the time. ' Wrote:Anyway, you don't need players around to be a good roleplayer. It is more likely for a nomad to contact a human personally, ie private chat, than to use system chat. It would use less energy to contact one person, than to make a system-wide message. Trial nomads aren't at the peak of their power, so the private option seems to be the best. This is just a ridiculous idea. In fact, no offense meant, but this is quite literally the dumbest idea yet...I have tried to "contact" random people in game and ill im met with is, "what the hell are you talking about?" A majority of the people have no idea what im trying to do when i talk to them. Not to mention it is really hard to strike up a conversation when they wont ask me any questions in return. Finally, arnt all the stations and planets human stations and planets? The only nomad bases are places that im hostile to, so saying "dock on non-human bases" is quite literally impossible. The dumbest idea? You don't have to PM random people, you can PM people in Omicron Alpha, without having to dock with their bases and broadcast in system. Private chat allows you to choose who you roleplay with, instead of broadcasting in system and recieving "lul whut" as a response. Also, don't say it's a dumb idea, since it's been pretty popular for a lot of Keepers recruits and roleplay. Quote:Finally, arnt all the stations and planets human stations and planets? The only nomad bases are places that im hostile to, so saying "dock on non-human bases" is quite literally impossible. You can dock on Planets Gammu and Primus, which should be the only bases you should dock on. They are OORP bases, filled with silly weapon choices and misplaced ships. Dock with them, as is suggested in the Keepers faction status. Unless Tenacity's Sisterhood controlled every Outcast base, you should not be docking on them. It does take knowing what names are most likely to play along...and you really can tell. Some names are just much more in rp. Like names, for example.... Other things that generaly tip me off are any use of symbols(often bad), faction markings(often good), ship names as opposed to an internet handle...such nuances go on and on. Underbridge is always up for a chat. Outcasts and Nomads - sovereign - 06-23-2008 Planet Gammu is a robot planet. When AC Merc was doing his Nomad LF, that's where he used. It worked for the Keepers until it was decided they could all use telepathy in system. Try it a little more. Here's a few hints for getting responses:
Outcasts and Nomads - Srkad - 06-23-2008 I appreciate it, I knew most of these tips already, obviously a lower level with a name like "pwnzorkapwnzor" is not someone i want to try. I'm not totally bashing it because obviously it is necessary, i suppose me saying that it is the dumbest idea was the wrong thing to say. I just dont like the idea of randomly picking someone via "eeny meeny minny mo". Thats why it was alot easier to RP while i was outside of malta because i could rp with the people around me. Well obvously that is out of the question now. Alright, ill go to a nice hostile system to dock. sounds fun. -_- Outcasts and Nomads - sovereign - 06-23-2008 Welcome to RPing an alien. The hat, badge, and horde of people who want to kill you should arrive within two weeks. Scratch that, the horde will arrive.... look behind you. Outcasts and Nomads - Tenacity - 06-23-2008 After my interactions with these two guys, several keepers, and the RP i've done on visas, I've been seriously tempted to create a nomad LF character in the hopes of getting into the keepers. I still firmly believe that you wont get much feedback if you stay in a system where few people go, and where you're constantly assaulted by nomad battleship NPC patrols. I have thought about trying to base it out of connecticut, focusing RP in liberty, but there's quite a bit more OORP crap going on there and a lot of people wont understand what I'm trying to do. There's really no good place to RP as a nomad when you arent really a nomad. The weapon restrictions are a little on the annoying side as well. The nomad LF cannot use nomad blasters/cannons, so it's stuck with 'faction' class 9 guns... they look horrible on the ship model as well. The LF cant equip countermeasures or mines - the latter isnt a problem but no CM's means you really cant escape from most npc's outside of new york, and you'll never get away from a pvp whoring idiot player that wants to kill you. The ship also has terrible survivability, it cant even go through some radioactive areas without dying (which is odd considering nomads soak up radiation for power...) Still, I might give it a shot, if I decide to stick around with all the idiots harassing me left and right. Go for it, I await being fed a char name to talk to. Please, I think you'll do great. |
