Yeah , but both bretonias Splitter and Outcasts wyrm are tachyon weapons , yet the bretonia gun is far less useful. It has 4 refire , but 470 dmg and 157 energy drain. The wyrm is with 3.03 refire but 652 dmg and 163 energy usage. Im saying that the bret gun is far less energy/dmg eficient. I know that those guns use a lot of energy for the extra 100m range. Yet the Slppitter uses way too much for tha damage it does . I think reducing it to 110-120 and increacing the dmg to 490-500 hull will do the work - still neutron salamanka will use less energy and do 489 dmg so ther will be a good balanse. Anyhow its a good gun.

Aha, I see.

Tachyon weapons are even worse. The IMG class 8 one (their best) does 212(?) hull damage per shot, re-fire rate 4.00 and energy useage of... I think... about 100 or so (this is all from memory so if it's off don't flame me).

What the hell does tachyon weapons have to do with the Raven Claw?

Please, new topic about weps balance if you like, but not here.

And, IMO, the Raven Claw should be removed, or made weaker.

Its an ASSAULT FIGHTER!!!, that would mean its for assaulting Capital class ships and crap like that, Yes its agility needs work, but its the Fighter mans Anti-Capital ship weapon.

Can I just remind everybody of this.... thank you Angel.
Its what I use it for, against NPC capital ships, and associated patrol fighters.
If you only like to fly the one craft, its the perfect beast.

Im sorry Hood but calling it an 'assault fighter' just sounds like an excuse to make it an uber-fighter.

Anyway, if its an anti-cap fighter it should handle like a titan.

EDIT: in fact it shouldn't be here in the first place.

raven claw - too strong? - Fellow Hoodlum - 05-09-2006

Have you checked its armour recently, Its now much on a par with the Talon making
only the Eagle much lower. If you would like to give it the armour of a Titan or a
Templar I would be happy to lose some of its handling capablities. Otherwise I can't
see a good reason to play with its stats further.

That would be stupid.... It can take twice as much damage simply do to the fact that is HAS NO WIREFRAME. No wireframe means, I think, that everyshot that would normally land on the wings(and possibly do bonus damage) would only do exactly as it says. Missiles are almost completely useless against them.

Guys, the game doens't care aout wireframe.

I've had missles harm my raven claw BIG TIME before, so this arguement is almost moot.

I don't get why you guys are arguing for anything.

And remember.. IGiss has it right..

Calling for the removal of a ship is calling for a FULL PLAYER WHIPE

Unless you want to deal with a whipe..DOn't call for it's removal ok?

raven claw - too strong? - Fellow Hoodlum - 05-10-2006

Thanks Wolf. I was just standing up for the Raven Claw as everyone else seemed to
be having a go at it. I am genuinely taking plenty more damage now from both guns
and missiles. My call was to not change it any more.
And as I have no modding or balancing skills, as far as I'm concerned Igiss is normally
the benchmark for gettng things right.
