Right now, One bomber can't do it, but to can do it... It's still far from being easy, as BS's have some serius firepower if you're opposing them in a fighter(bomber). I wouldn't spend $700mill on a BS if i'm just as well defended in my $30mill Gunboat. I'm suggesting 15K regen & more armor and of course other Caps balanced accordingly. Well it's not really like that. Fighters can hardly touch you as it is already, with any resonable boost this would only increase... Bombers on the other hand were made to touch you. And as such, should be able to... right now two bombers can do the job. Perhaps this number should be raised to a three bomber minimum, but making BS's imune to bombers would really nerf the bombers to much... why would anyone then use them, except for taking on traders :lol: The whole balance is set to limit cap whoring... to provide somekind of sportsmanship between two players, giving them equal chances in combat so to say... as things stand right now, a bomber could take down a battleship should it not be defending itself. Due to this apperent unrealism two bombers can do the job, and 3 or 4 have very little to fear from a BS (or anything less) Anyhow PC's are heroes in their own might, NPC's are the bread and butter of any army, but when you see a heroic famous PC flying at you in his bomber, you start planing for a war, not an easy skirmish, you know it is not going to be easy, he will dodge your shots, posibly flee you're not getting an easy kill... these kinds of RPG ideals are heavily supported by current standards. But when you roleplay a tough admiral, experienced in all trades of war, you cannot do it when 4 rookie bombers you could have taken out in a fighter show up demanding your life... Idealy a players skill should account for everything, but you really cannot compare a BS to a fighter... The important issue is... make all super weapons mortars, razors infernos as efficient as regular turrets, so when you trade your energy for firepower you don't pay 2 times to much... for a BS could then be very effective shooting capital weaponry, let's say 2 mortars for an epic battle, right now if you don't use almost entierly regular turrets, you're shooting yourself in the foot, when it comes to cap vs cap battles. We don't care. Anyone can powertrade for 350 hours and buy every damn thing in Sirius. That doesn't mean you have to win every fight just because you spent your money. Or strategic weapons? - Lunaphase - 08-21-2008 chopper, i think you missed the concept here.... a single bomber, or even two, should NOT be able to kill a battleship when the thing is nailing them full broadside. currently it takes the lib dreads full gun loadout 60 consecutive hits on a rheinland bomber to kill it. this is absurd.
