I can think of worse things for it to look like, perhaps edit the model for the purpose and leave it as such?. It doesn't look that bad in my opinion

I had a thought....I like the new reworks to the Corvo and
Barge, my only concern is that the Corvo is being downgraded
to gunship turrets, which is fine because it is a 'research'
vessel and all....my concern is that it is also being downgraded
in the number of turrets as well....it has the same mass and
agility and has to defend the same size hull with 5 turrets now
instead of 8....seems not calculated correctly....just my thoughts...

Since it is classed as a liner, I dont see much of a problem, because in the past, people used liners as "Light Carriers" in their Faction, best examples Vagrant Raiders and Shades of Sol.
It isnt a big deal realy. Also the Zoners... I've always seen this on other mods aswell as Vanilla and previous Disco. The Zoners are just a peaceful society living up in the Omicrons, while the Order would be like the Military force.
So I say, as long as the Order will get allied with Zoners again, remove the Zoner Caps, it's ridicoulus. Even though I love my Neph QQ
But remove the caps, turn them into those models that Jinx prepared, into transports and Liners. But that is, if inRP it realy goes into this position that the Order would be the military force of the Zoners and the Zoners would be like the economical hand of the Order (this way, the Order could also gather strength again.).
So ye, Zoners = Omicron Civilians, Order = Omicron Military, but both support each other, this way Zoners seriously don't need any Capital Ships, because the Order would ensure their safety.

I do like the Zoner Caps. For the simple fact it's a fantastic RP platform when i can get people in the faction to log. The Neph does drive me a little loopy as these days it wont dock with JHs successfully without it getting stuck, like at all. Though i'm hopeful for this new 'light carrier'. I can already think of a bunch of different scenarios it could be used for to which i can craft some interesting RP and also as a ship i can own and cruise about anywhere really. I've always hoped for some sort of armed Liner capable of defending itself against the odd pirate but also nice enough looking to not bother me while cruising vast distances in both size and aesthetic qualities. Though the Neph being far too big to do this without it getting frustrating (rocks). It'll be good to see, this is for definite. Bring on the updates!

Cruiser statistics and handling yet average gunboat setup for weaponry (intended for research i know but if your gonna make it look and feel like a cruiser then shouldn't it be a cruiser? in saying that i'm not against the gunboat idea but at least make it look like and act like one)....that seems a little underpowered to me. Why not just pull everything into the gunboat line while keeping it's survey capabilities for research purposes etc
EDIT: Now that I think on this more I guess the sizing and agility would be more to do with "laboratory space and research facility areas" oh well just my thoughts anyways, just semi-recently bought one of these so keeping an eye on what they are doing with it. Also I fully understand the no cruise disruptor thing as well, again being a research vessel and all.

+1.........5 gunboat turrets now have to defend the same square footage as
8 cruiser turrets once did....should have kept it 8 gunboat turrets maybe?
I'm looking for a new base of operations I can feel safe in..the old corvo or
the new barge would be perfect....I just want to be able to protect myself,
not start a war....
