RE: Why traders don't pay? - DonSam - 12-28-2015 First when I joined the server, pirates were nice at all time, they were asking for 2-5 Millions maximum and we enjoy RP too, but later some people here don't use pirate RP for fun, they use it to stuck trade routes, for example I met some pirates on O-3 they always ask for 20M or die? be logical, I run on 7 systems two ways to earn 50 Millions how can I give you 20M for just RP 10 minutes on pirate ship? and If I met the same pirate on both my ways he will take 40M profit? is that logic? then I will start to run a pirate ships too why should I play for an hour on trade routes if I can make more profit in just 10 minutes? or they ask to drop the ore? and take it then sell it with another cargo ships? so if you want to trade be trader and leave pirate then, I guess this is not a RP of pirate to stuck the trading routes, if you are asking why traders run? because pirates don't RP for fun at all. Thanks! What is power trading ? about Language barrier. i cant blame someone that he doesn't speak my language very well its not his mother tongue so its normal i would support him. about trying to run silent why not i would try my luck if i can escape ? i mean why you take it that way its still in the RP normal reaction for a person try to steal his money and if i cant i pay. i cant write fast so i move my hands to run then i start to write. its fun when i run from a pirate. it happened with me before i was racing a pirate and shooting the trade lane behind me and in the end he win and i gave him money and sent him a MSG out side the RP thanking him for the race and the RP while racing.. and if i see a pirate and in the rp i say ohh why you pirate us you are bad and etc. do i really mean that the person is bad ? or his Char is bad as a pirate ? off-course i mean that the Char is bad with no hard feelings. i try to put myself in the Char shoes and act accordingly. if i am on a pirate Char i will go like : these traders makes alot of money they have a job and a company they follow their government and its full of corruption they lie and say they protect the law but they are after their own binifit and my people struggle for living while we have no right in anything. Do i really mean that the person in a Police char or in a Trader char is a bad person ? no not at all but its just how i imagine it in the RP. If i check the *Y* to see who is in the system and try to take another way to avoid the pirate. does this mean i do not want to RP ? or pay ? no i want the pirate to expect where i am comming from which jump hole/jump gate once we could run the next time he will expect and we cant run etc. I always do it when i see a pirate and i escape i keep RPing in the system chat with /s i even give him the impression i will take the Jumphole and i go to the jumpgate. what i want to say the game between pirate and trader can be in many other ways. not necessarily in the classic way taking trade lanes and find a pirate and act i am supersized and scared and pay money. and please lets discuss it i am not arguing i am just explaining my point of view and my intention thats all RE: Why traders don't pay? - evanz - 12-28-2015 (12-28-2015, 12:35 AM)Frankenstein Wrote: ok its very interesting topic that i am very glad that its open now. I am one of the new players in this server, Some pirates i meet i enjoy the RP with them and i give them more than what they demand. and some others i rather consume all my nano and shield and destroy my cargo but you are not getting a thing from me. and this i find exactly what the OP is asking about, "why dont traders pay"? new to disco and has got it spot on RE: Why traders don't pay? - Ayman - 12-28-2015 i think balance is the key i will do the math 5k cargo we buy the ore for 3000 total of 15.000.000 you sell it on average of 9000 a unit total of 45,000,000 so net would be 45-15= 30 mil. so the trader jump average of 6 systems that takes time and go all the way and the pirate stay where he is not moving and the pirate take 20mil and the trader 10mil after all ? really ? RE: Why traders don't pay? - nOmnomnOm - 12-28-2015 So what i am seeing here is basically a pattern of: If you amuse me then ill give you money. It is simply human nature. I usually try to talk with and/or pay pirates. Sometimes I even play scared trader, giving the other side feeling of superiority (so not that quite common confident attitude of "I will pay you, so you can´t shoot me because rules, ho ho ho"). Yet, when I meet the type of pirate which shout at me "pay pay pay you have 30 seconds pay pay pay" while shooting at me, all RP goes aside because it is annoying as hell and I will rather be blued than paying. By the way, if you noticed, the pattern actually works both sides, according to what pirate players said here. Like "If you amuse me, I will tax you less". RE: Why traders don't pay? - nOmnomnOm - 12-28-2015 Never said it was a bad thing. Though remember your rp is watched so it should be amusing or fun anyway. RE: Why traders don't pay? - Black Jack - 12-28-2015 I will say 100% true. I haven't been pirated for more then 1 year. 1 mean normally pirated with RP. In this year i was pirated only ones and that wasn't so good. He wanted money fast or he will blow me up. It's not funny at all. I'm still waiting for good RP pirate so he could bring some action to booring trading flying. RE: Why traders don't pay? - JaySins - 12-28-2015 I've returned from a long hiatus of attempting to further myself in life to no avail, and I started playing way back in uh... let's see... 6... about 7 years ago, so like 2009 or something. Anyway, it's kind of hilarious to me that even after all these years, and I've played each year, the same issues always arise. "y trdr no pay?" "y no rp p1rat?" "y bigg factin no rp evr?" "wut e z trad root?" Although I have seen all of these things with my own eyes, mostly from the corsairs back in the day, I just find it easier to not ask these questions. It's easier to just RP myself and hope others do too, because if I don't bother to, why would I even play? From the beginning, and up to the end, it will never be fun to just power trade or trade lane farm. Sure, we gotta all make money, but if it's not fun, why play at all? It's like real life, if you don't make a purpose for yourself, a reason to live on, there never will be one. lol RE: Why traders don't pay? - Qur'chak - 12-28-2015 DonSam I usually try to RP with traders, but when they run I just skip the pleasantries and go straight to the business, and I am harsh, because they want to escape with my money. Why pirate should earn more than a fat trader? Because I'm the one with big gun, poverty and misery to the land rats, riches rum and women for me yarr! |
