RE: Removal of the system off the player list? - Sombs - 12-20-2016 As I said, the problem is more with the people as with the system. Discovery should in general less celebrate memes and people who are proud of trying to be extra funny like a rebellious classmate. I doubt there is ANY solution that will make both sides happy, so compromises are the only thing we can do, apart from just watching the status quo and have people intentionally harm others to profile like rappers. So does that mean you're conceding your point and agreeing that the player list should be reverted to what it was or are you just posting off topic? RE: Removal of the system off the player list? - Sombs - 12-20-2016 It was a response to Bloodlike, so rather the latter. I still think making a compromise is the better idea, as I believe the shietters will lose their interest in just-logging-to-be-dicks when you make it annoying for them. Like, would you seriously want to fly around with dozens of premade noname-characters just to hunt down a player you desperately want to see as a blue? In that case, something is wrong with you. Discovery has more to offer than just logging to kill ooRP set targets. And I know you can do better than that., given that you put effort into Custodi. EDIT: By the way, Omicega, I appreciate the personal approach that made it's way to me. Maybe one other time. Until then, let's just not harass each other. You got the plan all wrong, mate. You log a noname starflier to use the ingame player list so you know what character to log for the actual shadowlogging.
RE: Removal of the system off the player list? - Croft - 12-20-2016 Honestly the dramatics over a slight change in how the playerlist works are bordering on the absurd, at the very worst case this change is slightly less convenient. However Antonio did hit on at least one of the issues, though somewhat poetically it was raised as a counter to this change, people not logging. The server populace isn't dropping because of empty space and (currently) unused factions, its because people are waiting for activity to cross their paths. The evidence stands before you in this very thread, all the complaints hinge around not being able to find anyone in certain areas yet completely ignore the fact that they themselves could log in to cause the activity. If folks like Protege find it slightly more annoying to open Disco just to check the playerlist then perhaps they should just play since its already running? If you want population, you need people. RE: Removal of the system off the player list? - Sombs - 12-20-2016 I was talking about the region-rather-than-systems idea, Vasko. This doesn't work like that. The base question is "why should I open a game which might give me some fun instead of opening a game which is guaranteed to give me some fun?". Especially considering that opening disco takes me about ~5 minutes. Opening, for the lack of a better example at the moment, HuniePop takes 5 seconds. RE: Removal of the system off the player list? - Sombs - 12-21-2016 Why does it take so long for you, then? RE: Removal of the system off the player list? - Kauket - 12-21-2016 He said it in the other thread, he has to close his stuff, and change OS. Think he uses Linux so he can't run FL on that. I use Linux for all my work (because it speeds up my workflow, is a lot faster, doesn't spy on you, &c &c) and I only keep a windows partition for Freelancer to which I reboot when I can see there's something going on on the server using the forum playerlist. |
