The exact CPS values for this event are at around roughly between smuggling and ore, actually, and based on the values that Xoria uses for his trade balance formulas.

While it is true that people have come to expect a -much- bigger income during events like this, it is also true that previous events such as the Kusari-Rheinland route dumped a total of 48 billion credits into the server enviroment due to the prices.

While we do not have a reliable moneysink, I cannot use such prices for the time being.

Goal of the event should be to attract players to get lot of adventurous interaction / action.
If the event is appealing there will be lot of traders/smugglers and lot of pirates/police = Lot of interesting interaction / Action Smile

Remember the liberty/rheinland delegate/refugee times when you had to actually hire escorts.
Yes the cargo was expensive to buy (5k) and sold for 11-12k. The profit was 6-7k and it was very appeling for pirates and police because of the total value.
Basicly the profit was only 1-2k more than standard smugglers cargo and very expensive to buy. But that was enough to attract traders/smugglers and the total cargo value attracted police and pirates. All in all the route had lot of attention and interaction. Most importantly it was fun and adventurous.

Would somebody be able to explain to me what these "Tier I Scientific Data rewards" are? I looked on the wiki but I can't find anything.
Cheers.

Can the names of the smuggling ships not be visible next time? I just logged early to begin with the smuggle, realizing to get "shadowlogged" from an LPI indie that I encountered yesterday already, conveniently waitng for me exactly where it was necessary. If he didn't realize that I use to smuggle in a way that doesn't really allow him to catch me, he logged off and switched to his transport. While I think that is a borderlining behavior, it could be simply avoided by not making the names of smuggler publicly available on forums, because that's a kind of cheesy way of getting rid of competitors.

RE: Red Deer Station: Salvage Operation 1 - PlasmaSabre - 02-14-2017

There is a glitch at the moment. I accidentally sold 1 unit instead of all of my (illegal) cargo, and then when I sold the rest of it, the tracker only counted the 1 unit :/

If this is an anti-cheat sort of mechanism might I suggest instead, just make the cargo 'disappear' when you sell it, and then update the tracker with the number of units sold?

It's part of the event system unfortunately. You're supposed to sell the exact amount you've bought in order to collect the full reward and have it marked on the tracker.
