Wedel siege was not enjoyable at all. No regens, Unioners had almost no caps, RM and BDM were outnumbered beyond and typical RHA bringing 10+jorms or something. It was a total, utter failure. We had only 2 cruisers and cruisers without regens are like flying them unarmored.

I suggest the next time there are stakes involved, the event should be slot-based again. Telling people mid-event to switch characters while people logged to reach certain goals for their factions is unreasonable.

As much as I hate to limit participation which will invariably happen with adding slots (some people only want to fly their faction) I'm inclined to agree. A simpler way to do it would be to simply tell people we will be enforcing some kind of balance ahead of time so they know to expect staff members telling them to switch in advance.

Speaking as the head of the faction who effectively got genocided (tens of thousands of Unioners dead, plus all the Vierlande unioners captured by the Coalition, one of our four irreplaceable battleships destroyed, and our most important NPC base blown to pieces), and stabbed in multiple parts of the body by the RP consequences of this event;
I really enjoyed this. The shield was fun. Hopefully there'll be a path to the Unioners kicking some ass in the next one.
Slight issues was the impossible nature of side balance. Not enough people logged for the lawful Rheinland side. There were enough people on the Unioner side to make the battle interesting, if not win, but Wedel, being a POB sold neither ammo nor regens nor repairs nor replacements. The Hessians and Coalition could re-arm at leisure, but the Unioners couldn't do either of those things. We were shooting cap hulls with bomber pulses to try to do something. Anything.
People also didn't listen to mission messages enough.
The server was, however, full. That's badasss.
We encourage some of the better PVP'ers to make some Unioners and RM for the next one, as we will be pursuing this story development. Dynamic missions are fun.
