RP. if you would be paying attention instead of simply barging in just to spit a few words out you would see that what lyth was asking for is not nomads to demand cargo or credits instead of killing transports, but actually not killing transports at all nobody wants nomad pirates even tho ive seen some of those already, but delta ores are just not being used because players that have tried doing that have either been blown up by nomads or realized its not worth the risk (since lich is like 14k away from the iridium field) edit: out of personal experience i have stopped trying to mine or have someone mine for me in the omicrons because every time an adad or a nammu showed up. oh and when i tried having an escort i just got CDd and nomad torpd anyway RE: Aliens killing transports without a demand is bad for gameplay - ~Chio - 03-24-2019 (03-24-2019, 02:18 PM)nevrozac Wrote:(03-24-2019, 02:12 PM)~Chio Wrote: The least thing Freelancer wants to happen is Nomads converting into pirates, demanding credits and not killing humanity if they don't get paid. RP. A system covered by numerous sides, nearly all wanting to tear other apart, you want system like this to be totally safe. Difficulty to Beginner. That's not the point. Also, I'm terribly sorry for hurting your inspirations here. Like Nomads shouldn't be aggressive. RE: Aliens killing transports without a demand is bad for gameplay - nevrozac - 03-24-2019 @Vendetta buffing omicrons ore based on the threat level of the area just creates a big imbalance to economy when server is low pop during very very late(early) europe hours RE: Aliens killing transports without a demand is bad for gameplay - Vendetta - 03-24-2019 (03-24-2019, 02:18 PM)nevrozac Wrote: edit: out of personal experience i have stopped trying to mine or have someone mine for me in the omicrons because every time an adad or a nammu showed up. oh and when i tried having an escort i just got CDd and nomad torpd anyway I'd hire better escorts. Establish a security perimeter and a scout to warn the transports of incoming danger. Set up a fall-back point as a contingency to divert the transports and miner out of harms way while the escorts combat/distract the incoming hostile. This would allow the operation to be secure. I'd also comm one of the following to set up a contract: FL-ER, BHG, Auxilia Coalition. Just to name a few mercenary-based groups that could use a contract thrown their way for activity. RE: Aliens killing transports without a demand is bad for gameplay - nevrozac - 03-24-2019 @~Chio Like Nomads shouldn't be aggressive they also should be mostly dead based on vanilla but this is not about world immersion and rp, is it? its about gameplay balance RE: Aliens killing transports without a demand is bad for gameplay - nevrozac - 03-24-2019 (03-24-2019, 02:24 PM)Vendetta Wrote:(03-24-2019, 02:18 PM)nevrozac Wrote: edit: out of personal experience i have stopped trying to mine or have someone mine for me in the omicrons because every time an adad or a nammu showed up. oh and when i tried having an escort i just got CDd and nomad torpd anyway ill end this conversation here RE: Aliens killing transports without a demand is bad for gameplay - ~Chio - 03-24-2019 (03-24-2019, 02:26 PM)nevrozac Wrote: @~Chio Like Nomads shouldn't be aggressive they also should be mostly dead based on vanilla but this is not about world immersion and rp, is it? its about gameplay balance This is not 1.0. I understand need for the gameplay, but forcing things to happen is just not path to success. Nothing you say can convince me that your ideas are any better than the current way things are done. Space is dangerous and should remain dangerous. If it stops being dangerous, it stops being interesting. Obtaining valuable minerals should not be easy and should be time consuming. It should take a lot of effort to get these materials, and it should be a risk to the lives of the people involved. This is how the Omicrons should be and are intended to be. Dangerous, violent and distant parts of space where nobody is your friend and everyone wants to get ahead of you. There are fine lines between dangerous, interesting, and fun. As Vasko said, people silently engaging ships on radar or ganking them right at the undock points at their bases is 'dangerous, but we don't do that because it would be awful for gameplay and discourage people from playing the game. Replying to you and Vendetta: people also keep forgetting (out of ignorance, probably) that Nomads are not the only ID with Omicron ZoI. There are plenty of IDs that can provide equal opportunity for threat and danger to people wanting to mine and trade in the region, without leaving a negative impact on gameplay. Piracy, cargo demands etc. I don't get why people are looking at this in such a black and white way. It's really not hard people, come on. THERE ARE LITERALLY DOZENS OF OTHER ROUTES THAT OFFER THE SAME OR BETTER PROFIT AND HAVE NONE OF THE PROBLEMS/RISKS OR A NEED TO HIRE ESCORTS OUTLINED IN THIS THREAD. READ BEFORE YOU REPEAT THE SAME, USELESS, IRRELEVANT POINT AGAIN. RE: Aliens killing transports without a demand is bad for gameplay - Vendetta - 03-24-2019 Making the text bigger is not going to get your point across. It's going to make you look angry over nothing. I fail to see the benefit in your proposed changes. RE: Aliens killing transports without a demand is bad for gameplay - Lythrilux - 03-24-2019 So in short, you are too dense to be part of this discussion. Noted. |
