What is a Bounty Hunter - kacijon - 02-27-2009 Well Each Time I saw bounty hunter is a BIG CAP. SHIP . With total OORP. NOMAD TURRETS. So? But a "tad". That sounds a "tad" unfair to me. It's funny because I was called a "happy-trigger finger fool" by a (soon to be dead) Order-in-a-lucnhbox-nitwit in Cambridge recently. I do not use a trigger. I use the mouse button. What is a Bounty Hunter - Athenian - 02-27-2009 ' Wrote:Well Each Time I saw bounty hunter is a BIG CAP. SHIP . Double post but I can't help it. So? So bloody what? I could (with imagination, time and patience) justify the use of Nomad turrets on a BHG ship, and will be doing so. But let's start a new game: "Each time I saw..." Each time I saw a Corsair is a someone made a remark about cannibalism. Each time I say a Xeno is a pew-pewing in Taiidans. Each time I saw ..... Come on kids! Play!! I sense the thread is drawing the wrong sort of attention......someone help, please..... What is a Bounty Hunter - Dashiell - 02-27-2009 Sorry Ath, it`s beyond help. It`s attracting frustrated players who want to vent because they ran into the wrong hunters... What is a Bounty Hunter - carlabrams - 02-27-2009 That, and it's attracting the pirates who forget that many of us who have bounty hunter characters also have OTHER characters on the server - so we see (and interact) with all those gunboats that pirates tend to have. I can count on one hand the number of times I've seen, as a trader, pirates in fighters or bombers in Omega 3/7. Normally it's a case of how MANY gunboats are pirating you... Close it - it's become pointless now. What is a Bounty Hunter - Malexa - 02-27-2009 Organised guild collecting Bounties on unlawlful, would NOT attack unless it is profitable Thats what Ive voted. This whole poll bites itself when I drag the SP-Campaign in here. On one hand the BHs attack all unlawfulls and on the other hand they would NOT attack unless it is profitable. The part where Juni and Trent flee from liberty to Magellan. They get stopped by a group of hunters that claim to get the bounty on their heads. Suddenly the Hackers appear and the hunter tells them to get lost, since they are not a valuable target due to the missing bounty. Maybe the S/D should take this to heart and start convincing the evil-doers to dock at Freeports with them for group-hug sessions. Let the healing begin! ' Wrote:I'll chime in a simple truth. Amen, brother! Amen! ' Wrote:The Aeria is my chara, and yes. I use it quite regulary. but only to repel the hordes of unlawfull caps that roam the omi`s. in fact, I`ve seen very few hunter caps in the Omi`s lately. Thanks for the kudos. However, I would like to point out that my dessie(s) will fire on anything that significantly drains my shields. So yes, on a rare occasion, I will give fighters and bombers (even if there is only two of them) the standard 8-turret salute, should they decide to initiate hostilities. A destroyer commander should never ever underestimate the combined firepower of a fighter-bomber combo. That said, my main targets are the ubiquitous M26s. A dessie can take on larger vessels, but only with sufficient backup. It's not exactly the paragon of uberness, but it has its own charm. As for as dropping stereotypes, I think that it will eventually run its course. Currently, it's too satisfying and too convenient to whine about BHers. When you criticize the BHers (deservedly and undeservedly), you don't have time to re-evaluate your own rp and gameplay. Pointing out defects and problems in others is fun and a handy way to prop up your own underdeveloped sense of self-esteem! Not that it works in the long run, but... |
