RE: Devs require majority approval from community for major changes - Thunderer - 12-16-2019 I wish I knew why. Maybe they don't have the time? I know I didn't have the time to read every PvP balance thread when I was in charge of cap balance. One would presume a combination of priorities, ego (Though, that's largely dependent on who is doing the reading), and a genuine lack of time, given the circumstances. I have high doubts they even read player complaints RE: Devs require majority approval from community for major changes - xyva424 - 12-17-2019 This thread along with much of the feedback to the RCR notice have both resulted in a lot of community input. I know I have read both threads to their entirety at the point I'm writing this and I can't think of a reason the devs shouldn't have done as much. From what I can see the majority of the community want the community to succeed and want more influence in how changes are implemented to the existing mod. I have a few Ideas on how this can be constructively achieved but we need to have unity as a community and we need to have some say in our goals. Community voting is one way to achieve this but we cant do anything if those in authority refuse to acknowledge us. Instead we do the only other thing we can when we aren't afforded the representation we deserve. we leave. I don't want to leave the community, I've only just come back, but this really isn't acceptable and if its going to continue, I don't see myself staying much longer. Because some posts complain about things that the writer probably doesn't know about or isn't knowledgeable enough to be able to give a justified opinion, so it ends up looking like a pointless rant for the ones in charge that actually know what they are talking about. Imagine if you gave in to people saying how post-rework BC's are bad because they cannot fly them and buffed them for compensation. That would have probably resulted in the most broken capclass to be flyable ever since I joined, maybe even longer. I feel like when it comes to balance especially, some people should not complain about things because they are not in a position to do so - like when I complain about Snubs despite being awful in them. Oh yes, I remember that. Those were annoying. But at least they were as easy to disprove as a duel in conn. Social matters are foggier.
