  • Use LLMs to help you draft roleplay posts and stories.
  • Use LLMs to slightly improve some clunky, poorly-flowing sentences you wrote.
  • Use LLMs to investigate what parts of the Discovery Freelancer timeline your character would have lived through, given a certain date of birth -- taking great care to verify the model's claims, as it may well hallucinate a dozen fake events.
  • Use LLMs to generate the name of some imaginary park in the middle of an imaginary district on Planet Manhattan, if you're feeling a little uninspired.

Don't:
  • Have an LLM literally write your roleplay for you.

It's really that easy.
Based.

Maybe you should attach it to ruling, as amendity or as examples, along with Weapon post to sort out common questions.

I believe the staff is going to simply rely on the basic concept of "Use common sense" and shouldn't need to explicitly state what is or is not acceptable. If people spent as much time panicking over how their posting ability was being threatened by AI generated posts being banned as they did actually putting effort into writing their posts, this wouldn't be an issue.

Yeah well the fact that this had to be created, along with many rule clarifications and adjustments (this one being among them) should indicate that "common sense" isn't so "common" anymore.

I mean, yeah, you aren't wrong. I just don't think we should need listed rules for it. Hell, call it "Rule 1.0.1 - Use common sense" if all else fails.

RE: Rule Update: AI Generated Content - LaWey - 06-19-2025

Honestly i didnt meant ruling out every case. I meant just combine it to guideline, in some google doc maybe, and attach as link inside ruling. Wont hurt anybody, and will remove some fears/doubts.

Another thing, looks like people fear their RP will be removed on some badwill VR. I think if removed posts codes will be send back to owners, that will clear rest fears. P.S. Or just explain, that it invised and they can request codes if they need.

I don't worry about myself Jammi. I just used myself as an example. The Critique still stands that this Rule is impossible to enforce above a "Trust me, Bro" Level.

PS I just asked CHAT GPT to analyse my last RP post and it said that the chance it was written by AI was 30%. What was flagged the most was my style of writing. I think this is way too big a tolerance for Errors.

Again, if you cannot tell the difference between the two examples in Weapon's post (which, by the way, should have been enough to close down this thread given it perfectly summed up what the actual policy is re: text), that is solely a personal skill issue.

Your concerns have already been addressed earlier in the thread.

Agreed. Why can't everyone be on this exact page of understanding.

Good riddance.

RE: Rule Update: AI Generated Content - Fish - 06-20-2025

Is this a joke? Half of the replies here including some by haste look like they're AI generated lmao

If it isn't a joke, that's great, and I appreciate the addition of still allowing its use to edit/proofread cos I be making a lot of mistakes
