Sexy pictures, violent avatars and (ok, far-fetched) stories. - Seth Karlo - 06-09-2009 A very good point. And... clean shaven!? *Dies of shock* Sexy pictures, violent avatars and (ok, far-fetched) stories. - johnpeter - 06-09-2009 Sigs: In my opinion, there should not be anything that you would not show in public. (Besides violence.) Avatars: Same thing. I admit I don't get patriot's avatar, but whatever it is... Stories: These should be uncensored, but have some warning on them, and not be overly descriptive. General text: Nothing above "bastard" would be nice. Well, actually what's wrong with the current rules? Sexy pictures, violent avatars and (ok, far-fetched) stories. - jammi - 06-09-2009 ' Wrote:As for the avatar, its only a question of logic, use your brain too,do you think my avatar are too hard for here?I just think it's freakin weird and unsettling:P ' Wrote:Just a quick, slightly related question here. It's in multiple rumours. The Xenos especially bandied the word around in regard to Jukers and Outcasts (I think) in Vanillia. ' Wrote:Besides, have scantily clad women ever hurt somebody?I heard a painful story about a scantily clad women, a drunk man and a pair of stilleto heeled shoes... *Shudders*

I actually believe it could. RPing a char with a really nasty temper can be a lot of fun if everybody distinguishes IC and OOC. But yeah, maybe it's better to keep such things away from a public server. Sexy pictures, violent avatars and (ok, far-fetched) stories. - Linkus - 06-09-2009 *For once campaigns to keep things the way they are* Honestly, they are grand, as most here have been saying. (Besides violence.)What who wouldn't show in public? A prostitute? A schoolkid? A construction site worker? Saying stuff like that always brings another question. 'What's generic, then?' It's just taken out of contest. I was talking how I have oral exams from mathematics, and Tazuras said he preferred them over written ones. I just made it a joke between friends. As for it being offensive or inappropriate, sure, I'll remove it, cause on this particular case I see the reason in it. ' Wrote:I can concur with your point, -as long as- the language used, isn't over the top, and actually contributes to the role-play. I don't think anyone wants those two words and the similar in this game. However, I'll not really refrain from in-RP calling people bastards or ordering my pilots to "Get your ass to sector B-4, maggots!". RPing a char with a really nasty temper can be a lot of fun if everybody distinguishes IC and OOC. But yeah, maybe it's better to keep such things away from a public server.Yeah, the problem is not everybody does, and allowing these kind of words could lead to a good deal of increased anger and tension on the server. Not to mention many people find the words offensive, whether they are used in a fictional context or not. I would also like to say that just because you see something in public doesnt mean it is ok. In parts of Utah you can see drug deals going doing on the streets, it's not ok. A community should set standards in line with it's own moral standing and beliefs, not based off of what everyone else does, although basing it off of another community who's beliefs are respected is fine of course. PS. Yes... exams... that's what I meant... Sexy pictures, violent avatars and (ok, far-fetched) stories. - deluca - 06-09-2009 I honestly don't see what 12 year old (and i know many) would look at my avatar for example, and immediately begin to slam his/her head against the computer. That just doesnt work As for the sexy pictures, I have yet to come across anything that crosses the line, and I feel that the discovery community has tuned itself accordingly to the guidelines set forth by our admins and forum moderators. The same thing goes for the violent stories. If a 9 year old reads a story about a crazed bounty hunter addicted to eating nomad brains he isn't going to go out into the world scarred for life. Although in some particular incidents I have met people in the server who have been less than warm, but there's dozens ystems out there, not too hard to avoid him/her.
