Aww man thats perfect, I got no comments on it. ! Looks sweet! Nice job ! :D

Its not hard to make that model, copy paste the avenger top-fin and rotate as needed.

Is this flood now or still about the Tundra?

its a beuaty. i love your moddeling jinx its true perfection!

Looks great.

I could imagine huge rip marks in the hull, from where the "tentacles" grew inside, then ripped out when they were ready to expand, taking out chunks of the hull. (give the damaged area nomady feel, to make it look like the interior is all nomad.)

Dunno...

Edit- what are the odds of doing something similar for a LIb Gunboat? =)

here is an updated revision of the ship...

i have revised the idea of what the nomads do - and taken some of the feedback into account. - it now features the structure of the twisted wild gunboat ( scorpion ) and also shared rheinland armour plating rather than liberty - cause it seems that the wild have more rheinland material.

the ship still has breaches in several places that also show internal systems.

the whole cruiser was buffed up to support the typical three front pylons now, each sporting a spike that meets in the center of the sphere to produce the forward cannon.

so it hasn t got too many tentacles anymore but only organic parts where they re sort of needed - as well as the single organic patch that is placed there mostly for asymetry purpose.

the image has been brightened up - the actual skin is a lot darker.

i was not able to use the glowing, translucent nomad textures for the organic parts - so i had to pick the solid ones. - they look more like dead skin - and i can still recolour them. - but they re a compromise i think .

Well, seems allright. Thought it'd be more bulky considering the armor slapped onto it and all, the ship looks a wee bit unbalanced. Both in detail and mass. But as long as it doesent make planetary landings its allright.

It's starting to look less like a Liberty Cruiser. Dunno if that's a good or a bad thing, but you can still see it's there. I don't like the colour of that nomady green goo stuff... shouldn't it be purpley-blue? I think if the ship was more covered with that stuff it might look more seriously long-term infected and corrupted.

the tundra - Jinx - 07-28-2009

its basic frame is still the sticklike liberty cruiser. - thin tail, thicker head.

the skin is simple. - most of my ships have like 40 - 50 skin slices. - this one has 7. ( tells you something about the level of detail )

i mostly slapped the skin over it ( at that time ) cause its easier to consider a ship with at least a rough skin. - if the concept with the scorpion swirl is accepted, i can put on a better skin.

edit: the alternative is still to simply keep the liberty cruiser, - which incidently is quite a good alternative when you come down to it. - i don t expect any stat changes anyway... so all that is only cosmetical.

I did notice the textures were a little low quality especially from the top, but the green stuff was my only concern. Will it be able to get a more nomad-ish feel?
I suppose it's really up to what Zapp wants but I just feel it'd look better nomad coloured and slightly translucent.

the tundra - Jinx - 07-28-2009

blue and translucent is no problem - i just cannot do the original nomad ship skins. don t know what kind of skins these are ( enviroment maps? bump maps? - they just don t show when i apply them as a mat file )

i suspect i would need to create a 3ds for them - but don t really know how to combine both.

anyway - currentl its mostly the shape that concerns me ... - less organic stuff, a modified liberty hull - and a fancy swirl - is that how the tundra "should" look like?
