Once again - Kusari - Elsdragon - 09-25-2009 true, we tend to remeber thing like the behemoth SHouting OORP as he hits cruise for the 9 billionth time, rather than the DSE you RPed with for an hour Once again - Kusari - BaconSoda - 09-25-2009 ' Wrote:Yeah I'll have to chime in and say that the traders I meet in Kusari are by far the dumbest and most infuriating of all. They have caused me to be one of those 'supernova first, demands second' guys. I would like to repeat this. I don't ever get "I'm not carrying food!" anymore, but I get a lot of "That much money is a dream. Good luck!" or "You can't even carry this cargo!" or "Okay you got me. What!? You increased the price cuz I shot at you!" or "You know, you can't just blow people up without a reason. It's OoRP. You aren't even a pirate!" or "You can't demand cargo, AFA. Your ID doesn't allow it." So, yes. I would like to say that there is definitely an ignorance in Kusari, mostly of the backhanded deals and schemes in place, which makes it very hard to play there. It's really a shame... Once again - Kusari - Quorg - 09-25-2009 If you haven't found enough decent traders to pirate, it's because you're either not looking enough or you're looking in the wrong places. Once again - Kusari - Ayem - 09-25-2009 Or the traders that will RP when you catch them are just too good at running. We're -inventive- people*. *Edited for language, because of non-Brits. Once again - Kusari - Friday - 09-25-2009 It seems to me that this ignorance might be borne from Liberty noobs migrating north in their newer trade ships. All I can offer is - dont be afraid to educate them (even if its at the point of a gun). Even if they dont acknowledge it at first, some of it will stick in their minds. Being more specific about how to deal with specific IDs and cargos would be good too. In the same way that lawfuls have specific contraband they pick on - so to Kusari unlawfuls might wish to enforce different penalties on different cargos. AFA vs. Synth is an obvious one - but there is also Hogosha vs. Kishiro/GMG commodities, and Dragons vs. Samura commodities. If more of a focus is made on the commodity rather than the trader - then victims of piracy have a chance to learn WHY they are being targeted, beyond the simplistic notions of "Me Pirate, you Trader PEW PEW PEW!" so often encountered elsewhere in space... Once again - Kusari - pbrione - 09-25-2009 I think what Kusari really needs is a strong RPed Kishiro faction, to oppose the Hogosha/Samura power base in a lawful manner and force the KSP/KNF to distance themselves more from the quasi-lawfuls. Kusari RP is not "complex" in the sense of hard to understand, but it is "complex" in the sense that the relationships between the different factions are interconnected and depend on each other. The flaw here is that Kishiro is really the missing link in the chain - without a well RPed Kishiro faction there is nothing to prevent the KNF, KSP, Samura, Hogosha and FA from coalescing into one vague blob with aligned goals and near open alliance. Surprisingly well-said; this does make a lot of sense. This. ZOMG this. Don't get me wrong, I like our GMG counter. But they aren't in the main Kusari core worlds. And the AFA almost never goes to Honshu, I don't think I've even been to Okinawa yet on my AFA. Now, there are Kishiro out there, and the times I have roleplayed with them it's always a very tense relationship. Kishiro is, unfortunately very alone in the core worlds and I think that adds to it. But, then again, Samura isn't that strong player-wise. Also, the only way the 'circle's' alliance is open is when we are fighting, which is where most of our enemies see us. The day to day encounters are rather interesting though, just like that indy FA who got caught pirating. But unfortunately, the only way some in this thread see us is when they're on their outcast or QCP or whatever decides to pop their head in, and everyone rallies to repel invaders. I implore you to check us out when we're not on high alert, when we're just floating in space above New Tokyo or whatever. Once again - Kusari - Aoyagi - 09-25-2009 About kishiro, I've met one so far and he was trying to -tax- Bowex) privateer. I'm not sure that it's right, but it surely doesn't seem right to me. So yes, we could use some good kishiro players ^^ Once again - Kusari - BaconSoda - 09-25-2009 ' Wrote:If more of a focus is made on the commodity rather than the trader - then victims of piracy have a chance to learn WHY they are being targeted, beyond the simplistic notions of "Me Pirate, you Trader PEW PEW PEW!" so often encountered elsewhere in space... One would think, but most people don't understand why things are happening, and when you try to explain it to them, they accuse you of OoRP. This isn't a problem most of the time, except people just don't listen. It's not really nice. And I know ya'll are tired of the "Woe is me!" in Kusari, but, honestly, I wouldn't be yelling "Woe is me!" if I wasn't in woe. Also, FA NPCs attack that shipyard in Honshu on a regular basis, along with Shinigawa and the lanes in Shikoku. If we play the Samura-thug point of view, Kishiro is rather a high value target. |
