I'm in favour of Huge Rocks. Personal preferrence, if you will. Also, no Bruce Willis around to stop it.

Just one little issue with Marburg's idea. EMP in Earth's atmosphere is generated by Gamma ray burst from nuclear based weapons cutting through Earth's magnetosphere. Would it then fry electronics in orbit? Also, what if they're using Optronic computers? Would it work?

Also, someone mentioned Non Nuclear EMP... I give you Paralyzer missile.

I guess the person to mention biological and bio based weaponry, as well as Jinx with nanites had hit the target bullseye. Release one nanite, or bacteria into the system, let it replicate itself and do your task.

Von Neumann's machine.

Only issue might be that it takes too long to do the deed and might be detectable and maybe stoppable somehow.

What about a giant concave mirror, or just lens (without dust on it), using the power of local star to torch the planet?

Oh. Well someone said something of the kind a bit back...eh, whatever. You could still do some damage to manhattan.

If you're talking about WMDs, I'd imagine the WMDs in Disco verse would no longer be simply "blow everything up and killing everything" like the current H Bombs.

In my opinion, a weapon capable of system wide total devestation would be the least powerful thing we'd have.

All WMDs must be strategic, there won't be a point of doing massive collateral damage to an area as well as killing the enemy would there? If that was done, when you occupy the area you'd have to invest in building the infrastructure and defences again.

Therefore, strategic WMDs should concentrate on wiping out the enemy living force - people. Something similar to radiogenic weapons and biochemicals would be used.

Massive quantities of cardamine make this impractical, but it would be the best weapon.

Slowly, over a period of months, inject cardamine into the atmosphere and the water, so that nobody notices the energy boost the drug gives if you inject it directly into the bloodstream or take it in pill form. Increase the amount monthly, then suddenly stop. Nobody will ever know, and they'll think it's a plague or something. xD

My 6th Grade Physics teacher... in an enclosed room with poor ventilation... and a cheesy bean burrito.

That or Mussolini, a train, three bananas, and a squad of Indiana Jones style Nazis.

That nomad weapon....could actually do it in gameplay with a weapon on a nomad battleship that could fire two shots immediatly after one another, and cause massive splash damage on impact...like 500K

there you go, sunbuster in actual gameplay.

For other weapons, some kind of atmospheric deprivation weapon... capital ship weapons... bio-weapons... the main gun on the liberty siege cruiser

Massive CO2 emitters. Gradually cook a planet.
