But PC is getting the battlelog which is soooo s**t. I know 'cause I was an alpha tester.

to play the game you need to:
origin -> click "play bf3" -> load up another website -> load game.

you NEED origin to run all the time even though it does nothing and the battlelog is just horrible. in-game server brower should of stayed.

to quote "but why? And, if it has to be in another app, why isn’t there a server browser in Origin’s overlay? Why is there another system to complicate things? Ah, of course, because Battelog wants to be the free equivalent of Activision’s Elite thingum, with all that social and achievement stuff that you play games for."

There may be a Battlelog within Origin's in game overlay. Or it works in tandem. That would be great. We don't fully know yet though.

Hopefully more questions areanswered soon. Mainly
-Why is Origin needed to launch at this point if Battlelog is the Main Menu (Effectively being DRM)
-Will Single Player Campaign be Playable Offline

Well I was a tester too. Battlelog was fine. Everything worked as it should. Loading does not take even a minute to go in game. I liked it.
As a primary means of playing though is another question.

-Origin is needed for no reason. they want to be steam. the battlog is NOT the main menu. it is a website. the only time the game loads is when you click the server from the website.
-singleplayer will not be playable unless you have access to the internet since you need to access the battlelog website to access the option for singleplayer.

As testing the game it worked great but for actually playing the game post-release? no thanks. I want an in-game browser so I can fiddle around with my options while searching or maybe wanting a break from multiplayer and play a quick singleplayer mission before resuming like I did in Bad Company 2.

If you payed attention to Alpha then yes, we do know.

Singleplayer + coop buttons were both locked on the top of the battlelog website saying "Singleplayer isnt available during Alpha" and "coop is not available during Alpha" right next to "multiplayer" which was not locked.

you NEED battlelog to access them. purely because you got achievments and **** and battlelog well...logs them so you need to launch it through battlelog.

Anyway, when I first heard about Battlelog, I was a little skeptical, but then I heard information that it will put you directly into a server without fiddling at all with the game client. This made me happy. You don't really have to fiddle with "Updating your Statistics..." or anything of the like when switching servers now. You can simply Alt+tab and find a new server. Easy squeezy lemon peezy. No real big deal.

I don't know if it is speculation or not, but I also heard about full squads being inserted into servers on the same team and the like. That also makes me very happy. I kind of hate getting into a server only to see the fourth member of our squad on the other team. What's worse is when he ends up on the team which gets new players second. One by one we have to switch over to his side. Rather annoying. I'll be glad to see that gone if that isn't speculation.

Really looking forward to this game.

Granted it was Alpha whenever me and my 3 friends tried joining as a squad it didnt work. we had to all join the server seperatly and when it did work we were not on the same squad. the squad "menu" just consists of you spamming "leave squad" and "join squad" buttons in hopes you get the same squad.

we actually tested it a few times. I was in brazo, friend was in charlie. i spammed said buttons for 3 minutes with no luck and just joining the same one over again.
he did it once, got into Delta.
I try again, I left bravo (which just consisted of me) and joined charlie.
he does it again and joins bravo.
I try for 4 minutes and just remain in charlie.
after another 30 minutes of this we just gave up and left and rejoined the server untill we were in the same team. worked first time untill the round changed and the teams were jumbled up and we were seperated again.

A certain section of the internet, huh? Well, it's nothing really new. I'm pretty sure NCSoft would sell my chatlogs from Guild Wars to certain third parties if I was doing illegal things as well. I don't really think it's as big a deal as people make it out to be. I remember there was once a really big uproar about real advertisements being put in ingame billboards. Perhaps that is what this kind of thing will manifest itself as. Likewise, Facebook looks at my personal interests and then attempts to market "Take a trip to Germany!" or "Buy Real Football Club Uniforms Here!" on my wall everytime I log on. Additionally, Steam takes a system survey every so often to understand the demographics of its audience. I'm pretty sure they sell the statistics of that survey to NVidea, ATI, AMD, and Intel as well. Do those things really do anything? Not really. Just like with everything Anonymous does: everyone knows and no one cares.

That is true, however, Steams asks you. Concerning the other stuff, you may be fine with it, but some people are not very comfortable with it. It is difficult to avoid such behavior on the Internet, admittedly, but one can at least try to ^^
