How to test your connection using WinMTR - MÃmir - 03-24-2011
Hello. I have been playing freelancer on two different computers and on two different internet connections. In my experience, I am experiencing some form of lag around 40% of the time, making bomber vs. fighter missions totally unplayable, for instance. I just dont get it, because my internet connection is really good, and my friend's is even better (i think his is 20mbit down and 10 up). He can play full battles with 256 players in MAG (on the PS3) while downloading torrents at full speed without any lags in that game - but disco lags all the time, even if everything else is shut down. We're in Denmark, by the way.
Anyways, I sent the stats for my own connection. Hope someone can help, because its really annoying - more than once I have been part of epic battles with bs'es, dessies and everything, and just when the action is about to kick off, everything just stands still on my screen and suddenly I die because someone I cant see is shooting me:-(

Dingo: Your connection stats do not indicate any problems. No loss, good ping. Whatever the issue is you are experiencing, it's not connection related... at least not directly.
Only thing I can think of is that you have some form of firewalling or bandwith limiting software on your computer that doesn't perform well when your system is under load.

ok after chatting my my ISP its a NAT problem and now i get perfect results on the WinMTR app to the server but now my router isnt a router and just a bridge (modem setup) so ive just asked them how to fix without being on bridged mode and without having to buy another router that i can understand how to use (this tomson is slow and crap lol)

I've been getting awful fluct and Loss whenever I jump into fights -even with NPC swarms only-. I've been asking some people and seems they have got the same problem. Any clue about this?

Wat do to improve wireless ?:mellow:(Aside from the obvious "get closer to the router")

I encountered this problem today. I was just playing and all of a sudden i had a major lagspike resulting in a game freeze.
Afterwards i sometimes could not connect or i lagged/ had loss, which i never have.
