Yes, but no one flies their ships for those extended times... No one flies longer than they sit at their computer...

I guess that's why exploration ships have been created...

The aim of this poll wasn't to have anybody's preference. Only to know what RPer flies (hehehe) and statistics looks fine : caps are big ships requiring lots of material to be built, and there is few of them, compared to smaller ships...

Poll: What do you fly? - Tenacity - 06-01-2008

Yea, I was just stating my reasons for sticking to larger ships =P

The point of this poll was to see how many people fly certain ship types relative to others.

As was noted, when you log on and go someplace like liberty... you see dozens of capships, but few fighters. Likewise, in pvp combat bombers seem popular because so many people use caps.

yet... here the poll says that the majority of players here are using VHF's, which contradicts what we see in-game.

Anyway...

I have lowered the amount of characters I have recently to 3 fighters, 3 bombers, 2 gunboats/gunships, and 1 BS. I fly my bombers much more. (1 fighter, bomber, and capship for each faction I'm in.)

On tagging and ID'd::D

Are they equal? Like Gunboat=Gunship? Or is the Gunship like a LH Destroyer or something? (I have absolutely no idea.)

Thanks.

Gunships are basically 'light' gunboats.

Comparatively... The lane hacker gunship has the same number of turrets as the rogue gunboat, but has less armor. It turns quicker as well.

VHF for me, which means every pirate in a gunboat chews me up one on one. Only Xenos can be my match these days, and even then I can count the number of personal PC Xeno kills with only one hand.

I wouldn't mind trying out a gunboat, but my rank isn't high enough yet for that.

Well since all I can RP are cap ships cause i have fighter issues. I use my Tenabras battleship.

Voted VHF : all my characters in Fighter class and one in a gunboat.

Very interesting poll Tenacity.
I am also surprised to see how the results do not reflect what we see most of the time on the server. I'm also thinking that things work according to the principle of actions/reactions. which means more bombers when there are more capital ships.
In NY, the pirate tendancy is Gunboat+Bomber --> more SA/LSF Bomber . Won't be long before the capital ships class9/10 pop to counter the tendancy. (In fact, the BH BC are already countering the tendancy...)
XA of Colorado remains true to the Fighter class and the group team. Hope the LR will wake up soon.
In Rheinland/Kusari/Omega, thing are differents, much more organized criminals in fighter class, and capital ships only for defense.
In Bretonia... have a tea and a nice conversation.

You made a point with the living quarter in a large ship for RP purpose. I find easier to RP one char in a fighter than a whole teamcrews in a capital ship. However, I remember David Grau role playing interactions within his teamcrews : impressive.

Usually I roleplay all five members of my crew when necessary on tenacity (firefly transport).

On my capship though, only my 'main' character (the second in command of the ship) does any talking in-game, referring to other crew members by their ranks and not names. Seems more correct doing things that way, and I cant think up and remember names for a dozen crew members =P
