I'd go as far as to say that 90-95% of those of us with 400-500+ posts are guilty of that, me included.

I dont see what thats got to do with this topic. But surely its because we all have lots of different chars, and they all act in different ways?

Here's a very important tip for trying to help newbies: Always tell them how to reply, and how to private message you. Sometimes they just don't even know how to talk.

You know what, I think I will bump this thread. After conducting a similar experiment with a cloaked Jax by my side, I can assure you nothing much has changed.

Something even more sad is the current state of our newbie helping faction. http://discoverygc.com/forums/serverinterface.php?action=faction_status_details&faction=%5BAngels%5D

Just some food for thought. If you are one of those people, who avoid Liberty like the plague, because it is a dirt pit, nothing much will change about it, tbh.

I am. Sorry, but if I'll suddenly want to pew something just because it's red, I'll go to conn.

Also, a good idea was already suggested many times. Move restart point every week. Penny->New London->New Berlin->New Tokio->error#deletegallia and so on.

And even better one make statement about /showrestarts in BIG RED LETTERS right after Welcome to Discovery line

It is not about the placement of the new players. New players are rare, they do not come every day anyway. It is that nobody is around to help them. And the overwhelming majority of the ingame players have no time to educate them, because they think it is the angels job to do so.

@spazzy, oops, I've misjudged topic. Thought it's about lolliberty problems.

Basically, the best way for newbie to stop being newbie is join a faction. Better powertrading one.

As for Angels, in my very first day on server I've tried to ask one why I'm receiving nerf on my ship. Instead he just advised me to make restart.

I have not seen an Angel in most of my time here, not when I needed them most. But they do offer help when asked. Maybe, old members who have lost interest to play the lawfuls/ unlawfuls, or tired of all that this game has to offer, can be an Angel for some days until something they find interesting comes up again.

People who play angel tagged chars are usually tied to many other responsibilities in here. So, those who have not much to do here are the ones to go to for this. Also, why not make the angel tag an open one? So that people who are willing to do some help, when they feel so, can log their angel tagged ship and go around helping others. Since, everybody dont want to play an angel everytime. So if they feel they can do some good for a specific hour, some random hour, they can log in their angel chars and help along.

Since, in the welcome note, it is given that Angels are there to help and newbies are just too shy to ask every guy in the player list for help. So when some guy logs in his angel tagged ship, the newbies are sure that they will help when asked and they wont ignore their queries.

Those who are willing to play an angel for some time, might benefit from the open tag and no recruitment. This also increases the now pathetic rate of angel ships logging in.

Angels are old thing.

A new thing would be [HELP] tag and ability to trade while helping people. That is both, profitable for person and helpful to new players.
