OFFICIAL EDICT BY THE GOVERNMENT. - Turkish - 06-24-2008 Regarding the independent systems; They're just that, independent and out of our jurisdiction, but that isn't to say we wont intervene if the matter is dire. We are a navy sworn to protect the sanctity of life, Libertonian life first admittedly but still. Though this needs to be kept to an absolute minimum, traveling outside of our direct control zone is a fickle thing and I'm not looking for sanctions. OFFICIAL EDICT BY THE GOVERNMENT. - Maximus - 06-24-2008 I think you are missing the point. NPC navy patrols go through that system for a reason: pirates can attack and loot all trade Liberty sends to any other house. No one, especially corporations, wants to trade through systems where bounty hunters are the only protection. Even if you say you are bored just going back and forth, you don't want to die. I'm telling you, Lane Hackers aren't only in California. The independent systems lie between Liberty and all other houses. It is not good for trade to have an unprotected system in the middle of all of the Routes. The exception is Hudson and the other system between Rheinland ( cursed memory) because of the embargo. Unless you want ot stop spies... OFFICIAL EDICT BY THE GOVERNMENT. - Reverend Del - 06-24-2008 He's right Navy NPCs are found in the half of the system that borders Liberty, so it is your ZOI, same as it's unlawful ZOI for the same reason. No-one should complain about you keeping to your half of the system, so long as it's not all the time. Same goes for most of the other House militaries that border those systems. OFFICIAL EDICT BY THE GOVERNMENT. - Turkish - 06-24-2008 That's a fair point, I see where you're coming from but its still a tricky situation patrolling a sector of space that isn't in your direct charge. I intend for the LN to be involved with the security of those systems, but only to a certain point. Beyond that I think we would be deviating from where Liberty would be naturally drawn in times like this. We're at the brink of wart with Rheinland, subsequently its my feeling we should be putting more focus on guarding our borders and maintaining a stronger more unified, and sometimes isolationist Liberty. Regardless we will be on hand to assist if the need is there, just not as heavily as in other systems. HEh? *Hisses like a cat.* Well I have no idea when the RM was formed. I do oppose their policy. ' Wrote:I'm pretty sure having Virginia gives them all of Liberty, though if anyone such as the LPI or LSF were to get a guard system too, then what would happen? LSF have a guard system don't they? ' Wrote:I'm tired of all the bashing on the faction of Liberty when the real problem is how people want to imagine how Liberty should be run... I'm there. I've seen the crap. I'm trying to do something about it. ' Wrote:The SA leadership posts a simple RP post about the SA becoming the LN, and this thread erupts in flames. Well, I'll contribute. To satisfy: Well considering the BAF/KNF war is coded into NPC's killing each other you can hardly call it a faction rule. In fact, since it was done so by Igiss it is pretty much a server rule. During war, trade between warring countries ceases. To continue to trade would be OORP and makes whoever it is trading liable to sanctions. SS button+post=easily solved. Considering NPC's scan for cardamine, and contraband is an in-game mechanic. Anyone who does not order a cardamine smuggling cargo to drop their cargo is OORP. (I do not agree with fines; they in my opinion are just a way for a navy to pirate.) Again; SS button+post=easily solved. Restrictions. Guard system is owned by faction. It's said in server rules that they can do what they want in there, and only there. So the next two paragraphs of your rant just went to 0. EDIT: Wait, you think fines are a way for lawfuls to pirate? Go ahead and get a speeding ticket some time in real life and see if accusing the police of being thieves gets you out of it. |
