RE: Abuse of Power Complaint to Admins Via Bretonian War Cabinet/BAF - Bootsiuv - 06-01-2013 Aish....dude, we are not our characters. Why is it so hard to distinguish between incharacter rp and ooc dooshery? The amount of effort required to reach a core 4 base alone means that many people were involved in this project. Is it right to destroy something important to them because one person in the group may be trolling? I don't think so.... Or keep them and allow them to shoot anybody at will at any bottleneck without any sense, right? Is that what you are suggesting? The base has been removed because it did not operate how it should have been, and was removed this way to prevent the base going rogue and resisting siege for weeks. Roleplay reason has been given. Should the base work properly as described in the contract with the government it would still be where it used to be. Given this it is entirely the fault of the base owner that his hundreds of working hours resulted in this. EDIT: To reflect on the following: (06-01-2013, 12:18 AM)Bootsiuv Wrote: Is it right to destroy something important to them because one person in the group may be trolling? I don't think so.... It is the responsibility of the members of said group to decide who they are working with and it is the responsibility of the group what the station is doing. RE: Abuse of Power Complaint to Admins Via Bretonian War Cabinet/BAF - Bootsiuv - 06-01-2013 So blowing up one trader on one trade run justifies this then? I'll just stop here. People obviously don't understand what I'm getting at. Having multiple precedents for a problem to occur proves that it is a recurring problem and indeed justifies the preventive measures taken against it, to prevent happening it again.
Just imagine a Xeno residing every time at the same place and you just never know when will it decide to blow you up without a word. I wonder after how much time would you complain about it. RE: Abuse of Power Complaint to Admins Via Bretonian War Cabinet/BAF - Irwin - 06-01-2013 I really don't see an issue at all with what has taken place. People will always, OORPly and IRPly, act in what they believe to be their best interests, and that's all that has happened here. If you didn't want to lose your base, you should have been far more careful. You caused trouble, and actively so. Furthermore, you gave out your password, which was rather foolish. You gave people cause to destroy your base, and the means with which to do so, and you're surprised it's gone? Seriously? And lastly, it's a game. Don't dwell on this, and certainly don't go out of your way to make sure another person's punished (and not for breaking any rules, but rather, making you upset). Acknowledge what happened and move on. Don't make the same mistakes in the future, and don't get too upset over it. Losing a base isn't really that big of a deal, and bases are lame anyways. RE: Abuse of Power Complaint to Admins Via Bretonian War Cabinet/BAF - Hone - 06-01-2013 Well I will say that I think a com channel message saying what was happeneing and why, should have been posted seconds before the raid began, like police get warrents just before conducting a raid. That would have been good RP, and not left enough time for the owner to change the locks. RE: Abuse of Power Complaint to Admins Via Bretonian War Cabinet/BAF - SummerMcLovin - 06-01-2013 To clarify Hone, I've already explained exactly what happened - it wasn't Core IFFed (station changing to this, the idea was rebuffed). Also, Bretonia does not usually demand a password from bases, but then again we never had (nor will we in the future) have them in such a dangerous position. Although I appreciate the people backing me up, don't anyone think I'm happy with myself for doing things this way. Does anyone else see the irony here? We all come here to have fun. This is not fun for any of the parties involved, so why is it ok? It does nothing but create oorp negative feelings. Period. I can't help but assume you're taking this more personally than would be expected due to the recent deconstruction of your own base. Those situations were entirely different. This base had the potential to completely eliminate traffic between Manchester and New London. Do you not see a problem with this, fun aside? |
