I'd remodel docking rings into a beefy, fortress-styled satellite toting heavy, rapid firing guns (The sort of firing you see when 30 people are around a pissed off NPC base.) But yeah, putting on heavier guns would be really nice. Quote:Saronsen's arguement is valid - people have NO respect for base perimiters at the moment except when there's a battleship involved. Even then, most people don't. Coming from experience with people shooting at battleships next to Long Island and Manhattan. RE: A dev's log. - AeternusDoleo - 04-29-2013 @Syrus: No chainfiring mortars, no. Bases should not instakill, but slowly wittle down folks who remain in the area - and give them plenty of time to withdraw. @Saron: Remodeling docking rings is possible, but a royal pain in the neck to do. They feature multiple chained animations on activation. It'd probably be easier to add a seperate "turret" like structure - specifically designed to sit on the exact same coordinates of the ring to act as an expansion to it. But the Docking Ring has 4 weapon slots that can be worked with (and more could easily be added), 2 cruiser pulse and 2 light hullbusting main guns should be enough firepower to deter most raiders. RE: A dev's log. - eigos - 05-01-2013 As an estimate, how far is the development in % through? Which major To-Do-Things are left on the list before the first beta? RE: A dev's log. - jammi - 05-01-2013 System, economy and model work is mostly done. The biggest outstanding task is infocarding and a few leftover balance problems for Blodo to fix. RE: A dev's log. - eigos - 05-01-2013 Nice, sounds like a summer beta release RE: A dev's log. - belarusich - 05-01-2013 http://hendrik0.home.xs4all.nl/pics/Dev/newmap.png Gallia conquered Leeds??? Kusari now can freely fly in Gallia?? PS disco has redraw map, is it have more space, or space is the same as vanilla? RE: A dev's log. - AeternusDoleo - 05-03-2013 Update: Still plugging away at the rumors/infocards. Slow progress, a few people have offered to help but stated they can't do so until later in May. I've meanwhile completed the Tau systems with the exception of Tau-29 (my knowledge of Kusari lore isn't sufficient). Right now I'm merging in Omega 3's rumors which Jamie has prepared. Most systems won't require that much updating, but there are a lot of systems that will require a complete rewrite as well. Take a base as Sprague for instance. No population predefined, but it now has 12 NPCs with each at least 3 rumors. That may not seem much, but doing that for half a dozen bases across 101 systems adds up
RE: A dev's log. - monmarfori - 05-03-2013 How about removing unnecessary systems? RE: A dev's log. - AeternusDoleo - 05-03-2013 Read back a few pages and you'll have the answer to your question. RE: A dev's log. - Knjaz - 05-04-2013 About base/docking ring weapons - would it be worth/not too time consuming to rise "security level" of House capital systems (I guess, including OC/Sair ones, as mini-houses?) above the "Sirius-average" (with Sirius average being those pulse/cruiser basics), through further tweaks to base weaponry? Those NPC patrols are never there with 150 server pop. |
