Reason: My experience among the forces so far has shown me that the Navy more than often needs to bridge the gap between capital vessel and transport. It is not rare in our line of work that thousands of civilians are taken hostage by pirate or enemy transports as an example. Moments can be the difference between life or death for these civilians and a gunboat's hold, no matter how cramped they try to fit them in, is rarely enough for a safe rescue of all the victims.

Other recent campaigns such as Operation Orange Juice have revealed to us the importance of appropriate interdictors for the right task, as more than a few smugglers were able to slip past the Reservists' LABCs and Siege Cruisers, which are ill-fitted to tango with smugglers in the many ice and asteroid fields of Liberty.

Not all cargo seized is fit for immediate destruction in space, and the weaponry along with the hull of modern transports just aren't enough to keep up with criminals. Armored Transports and Frigates, such as the Scarab, with their impressive hulls, massive holds, generous powercore and powerful gunboat-tier weaponry deserve to be thoroughly field tested as both logistical vessels and interdictors in the ever growing arms race between Liberty and her enemies.

Lieutenant Williams, you'll most likely be frequently requested to participate in several search-and-rescue, cargo interdiction, and hazardous cargo handling operations, especially after the recent debacle in the Earhart system. I hope you're ready for the undertaking.
