The pod counted down to zero but before it could blow up a nomad youngling appeared and destroyed the pod, although no one will ever know the difference.

After waiting for what seemed to be an eternity for his crew to attend to the issue, the Captain went to debrief them himself, leaving the training session to continue it's exercise over and over.

He walked down the halls looking for men who were working on fixing the issue, but he found no one as he walked and decided they might be in the mechanical/engine room or the waist disposal section of the ship.

He made his way to the engine room, slightly annoyed, only to be met by a crowd of panicked engineers and crew members, talking in hushed tones and feverishly running around the room in a chaotic mess.

Back on the bridge, the crewman sitting at the Deep Scanner console see something on his screens, " Large single ship contact, sector 5 vector 118....distance 30k and closing fast, this is not part of the drill, this is not part of the drill....Unknown contact sector 5 vector 118."

The crewman at the scanner's eyes suddenly widened as he declared, "Uh, multiple unknown contacts approaching our position. Bearing approach vector mark 278, 12 thousand kilometers and closing!"
