Arthur sat down next to him.
"Well, she is doesn't work nowadays. She used too, though. She was a teacher at the local university, but that was before we met. But she stays at home nowadays and raises the boys," he answered.
Arthur stopped, and recalled something in the briefing about evidence about some faction of people, but he forgot the name.
"Hang on, what do you mean evidence?" he asked.

Victor listened to Arthur, and a question came to mind but he was stopped before he asked it. The commander had every right i know abut his report.
''I had a run in with some transport carrying....certain items. Auxesia, after a while, decided to take those items. The Admiralty board thinks they have been taken illegally. So i had to deliver my camera and Audio logs to the BPA for their investigation.''

Arthur crossed his arms, and felt disgust.
"Auxesia," He said in a mocking way. "Those bloody idiots get their noses in places where they shouldn't." He whispered, "To be honest, between us, I hate those fools. Going about 'Oh, I'm so entitled, I'm important.' *sighs* I always suspected they were doing dodgy behind-the-back deals."

Victor let out a small smile. ''Well sir, its not my place to comment on our allies, I trust that they are valuable in some way, and if not, then i trust the Admiral's desicion. But if i am honest with you, I'm not entierly sure what they do.'' He took a sip of whiskey before continuing ''Given the nature of the cargo and the ship i was flying, i did accept, yet they didn't hand it over. Strange, but it's out of my hands now.''

Arthur chuckled, and went over to the table where he had placed his tea.
"Still warm, thank God," he said, taking a sip. "You have to love English Breakfast." He walked over to Victor and resumed talking, while holding the cup in his right hand.
He let out a sigh. "Anyways. Do you think we can take back Leeds? Do you think we have a shot? I've been talking with the other officers, they all seem grim about the situation. But I feel hopeful."

''Whiskey for me'' Victor smiled. ''As far as Leeds is concerned, yes, i believe we do have a shot. Reports coming out of Tau-44 indicate that the Crayter Republic have retaken the system. That should at least divert a few of their forces, or get them bogged down in a second front. Of course that all depends on the Republic holding Tau, if they can't do that then we may have a problem''. He lent closer and spoke quietly ''I also hear rumours of something big happeneing, HCs got something in the works, something that may very well even the odds for us in this bloody war.''
He lent back. But all i can suggest is keep fighting, i recently took a wing into the Edinburgh system, the plan was to hit some of their transports, make life a bit miserable for them there. We encountered a few privateers. I'll tell you, things might seem bad now, but we're still in this.''
He took another sip, his glass nearly empty ''How do you feel about our current situation?''

Arthur had had a, well, troubled past with Gallia. They had caused the death of his father, when he was still just a young lad.
"That is good news. Very good. I think we can do this. So many folks these days are demoralized. You see it in the pubs and in the schools," he said, sipping his tea.
"But Edinburgh seems like the best option. Leeds is too well defended, and defensible. Edinburgh is open; not many dependable positions, which is a double edged sword. Once we take it, we'd have to take Leeds right after, otherwise the front is too open and GRN ships could flood in. I want some action, yes. I want to put those rats in their place," he said as he clenched the fist that held the tea, shaking the cup.

Victor listened, he agreed with Cuttingham, Edinburgh was an open system, true it had its disadvantages, but it did provide a gateway system into Leeds and Orkney beyond. ''If you wish sir, i would be more than happy to conduct a patrol into Edinburgh with you, if you desire to inspect the system.'' Victor rose and wandered over to the bar, getting some more whiskey and bringing the teapot over for Arthur. Sitting back down he continued, ''Indeed, we could even muster the ensigns to come with us, patrol is a good way of training them don't you think?''

Arthur took the teapot, poured a little more in his cup, and chugged the tea.
"Yes, live experience is one of the best ways to train the pilots. That's how I came to be as good as I am now. Yes, I almost died countless times, but I am better from it. But if HC is doing something about it, it would be nice if they chose to attack Edinburgh. Marshall a massive force, and put a dent in the GRN's efforts. And yes, patrol sounds like a good idea to me. We could leave now, if you'd like. I'm a little short on time but I can spare an hour or two," he said.
