Coupon for free (trial) playing of Arena Commander:

Use it here.

It should give you an Aurora for a few days. Even if you are a backer it gives you the Aurora (unless you have one already I guess).

Note that the game "weights" over 13GB worth of download.

More information here.

Trying to find the ship in star citizen most like a firefly/serenity. So far both the freelancer and starfarer look pretty close, and there's a hull-C design by the same company that is described as being a midbulk transport commonly preferred by smugglers, no pictures of that one yet but it sounds promising. What do you think?

Either the RSI Constellation or Drake Caterpillar are in the same size range as the Firefly; the MISC Starfarer is a tad heavier and more specialised for fuel transport/collection. The MISC Freelancer is closer to a FL freighter than a transport, but Star Citizen doesn't appear to have such a clear distinction for where freighters stop and transports begin (unlike Freelancer). The Drake Cutlass appears to be a bit like the evil twin of the MISC Freelancer, but can certainly still be used for legal trading when you're not "conducting search and rescue operations on mysteriously abandoned cargo".

The MISC Freelancer is arguably the most accessible ship, particularly for a solo player - and a safe investment given that we haven't seen what trading or travelling will be like yet.

Yah well looking at this video, the MISC Freelancer looks promising Big Grin

RE: Star Citizen - Tenacity - 09-02-2014

There was a youtube video I saw where they put cuts of the MISC Freelancer commercial to the opening song for Firefly, and it fit perfectly. I love the vectored engine nacelles too, looks like you could get some uber manuverability out of them.

The Freelancer is definitely shaping up to be my favorite ship in the current lineup. I'm eager to see what the starfarer and hull-c will look like, being made by the same company (there's a picture of the starfarer I linked a couple posts up, but apparently the model is going under a complete redesign at the moment, and could end up looking entirely different).

BTW my forum account name over on the Star Citizen forums is Leonin, apparently someone took Tenacity already (and If I find out who did, I KEEL JOO!)

Meanwhile STALKER , last hope - oh wait - it's realized, I mean finally, downthingy...
Without any cash.

Yeah - oh sorry for the sarcasm.

Any freelancing SW engineer around?
I'm pissed 'cause 'our' tool will be blamed.
Heck, two years passed and our CryEngine still sucks.

Oh, regarding Freelancer.
Go read the credits!

Beyond stoked for this game. I kicked started it originally but had no idea it would reach this size.

RE: Star Citizen - Birdtalon - 09-06-2014
