"Combat reports indicate suprising competence and tactical performance against fascist forces. Whilst I lack Arbeiter Eichel's exuberance, our assets appear superior. The Auxesians do not use their capital-class combatants effectively. Nor do they properly deploy their fighters - they appear to rely on individual accumen rather than having a wider strategic awareness. In short, they fight alike bounty hunters, focused on individual kills, umprepared for a massed asteroid siege." "The unexpected arrival of the LSF and the Xeno Alliance - even the BDM - to their quarter, in a haphazard commonality of purpose that seems to provide them little overall strategic depth, has not increased the kill-to-loss ratio in their favour. Perhaps they intend to grind us down by outnumbering us, but their chances of success remain doubtful. Bering will remain stalwartly independent thanks to the support of our Unioner independent, Rogue, and Lane Hacker allies. The Seperatists have also provided great assistance against the LSF and the Navy on occasion. " "It appears that the lessons of the Legion's attack on Pacifica have been learnt. The Technocrats make zero headway against us, and have sustained considerable losses for every gain they make. Our heavier assets outperform and outskill them in combat. The Gaians, who have been stalwart in provisioning us, have mannaged to slip the blockade repeatedly, as have our own logistics transports. The Auxesians are faced with a choice of attacking us at home or intercepting our supply transports in California - they cannot do both. The Auxesians display a situational leadership profile based upon arrogant self-interest. The are only likely to become more adversarial as the reality that they are failing to properly match us in combat crashes around their ears." "Morale is high, but we must remain cautious. It is only through proper strategic use of our assets have we achieved victory thus far. Statistically and technologically the enemy has the advantage - their failure to leverage benefit from theoretical strength should show the difference between war-games and reality. No plan survives contact with the Unioners. Especially on home turf." "Their equipment may be demoralising to those with less experience, but they appear to have very few rabbits in the hat. Their propulsion systems are of little consequence. Their core-derived equipment appears to lack the finesse of the original APM models, and appear to be highly encumbered with chimerical equipment from the Commonwealth and elsewhere. Of course, the Unioners are known for our Chimerical equipment - but it is deployed intuitively. Here the Auxesians have valued the archytype of the 'cutting edge' over reliability, effectiveness, and fleet logistics. As any good naval historian will tell you - perfect is the enemy of good enough. Transhumanist racists being what they are, their technology appears to demonstrate the flexibility of a perspex tombstone. They have stuck to preferential loadouts and specific devices. They do not adapt." "On an inspiring, yet less tactically significant, note, the Sirene has proven physically superior to the largest vessel the Auxesians have yet thrown at us, even the Arbiter intelligence warfare flagship. The Sirene would have performed better if not for a minor ordinance spillage. The crews are inexperienced and not military-grade. Yet the modifications appear to comport her excellently. There is no warship in Sirius that the Enemy can sortie that will be able to match her in direct line of action." "I am no diplomat, but I doubt that the Auxesians will ever negotiate or come to an accommodation, unspoken, or otherwise. They are simply too detached from the experiences of normal individuals to have conventional concerns. They have zero interest in safeguarding the (to them) trivial existences of men and equipment. What they consider sacrosanct, they see as a means to an end. They are, in short, a worthy enemy. One that provides me much less trouble than the prospect of sallying my father's uniform and name." "I fully expect that these insidious invaders will be driven back to their cave, providing that we continue to behave dynamically in vessel compositions, strategy, and engagement tactics. I have several ordinance reconfiguration demands for Pacifica's volunteer space guard, should they stop boozing on public time, of course." "Like all technology dependent entities, gizmos and whizz-bangs fall foul in high-stress environments alike the Tanner silicates. Auxesia are likely suffering major equipment failures across their assets. Any stealth-coatings or low-emissive engine designs will doubtless fail under enviromental considerations - asteroid disturbances can be tracked, emissive radiation tracked. For every shiny suit of armour, there is a chink." "They have stumbled on the first moves of the dance. It is up to us to remain lighter with our footwork." "I'll raise a glass to the men. They've fought and died for our freedom today. Remember, the Unsung Heroes of this operation is the continued support of the Gaian Guard's Percheron Logistics transports, and the Crayterian Goverment for allowing free passage of supplies from Barrier Gate. They owe us much to the heroism that has been fought for here as do the Arbeiters climbing into their cockpits, hour after hour, to face the enemy, and defend their families." "That is what unity is. This is what we fight for. No callous extremist will take that dignity from us." "Remember. We fight against overwhelming odds. Any triumph should be lauded, but not expected. We will will continue to triumph by outsmarting an arrogant, boating enemy. Yet we cannot depend on their rashness." Combat Kill-to-Loss ratio against the Cabal incursion: 1 casualty for every 3.7 hostiles destroyed. Strategic victory likely. ![]() In the memory of the fallen, so none may fall again. "Proximus Ardet Ucagelon. Captains of the Syndicvolenteer guard." The man spoke with the blunt, yet workmanlike, efficiency of a wrought chisel. "On your terminals, you will have recieved intercell ship readiness reports. They are proceeding on schedule. They are not satisfactory. Now that the Freiwerft has completed establishing the mass scantlings on Vierlande, we can expect regular, not irregularised, component availability within the core systems. Embezzlement of hulls will result in loss of commission, Union mandate, or without. A lack of evidence of corruption is likely to indicate a lack of reporting. Yes men do not deserve commissions. Lying crews will be put back into their own Cells. Lying captains will be thrown into my brig." There was the essentialism in Schultzky. He did not believe in the face of command, of an admiralty that must be immersed only in the symbolism of command and not the reality of each decision. A survivalist's numbers game. Men and women of stature towering above him in the command structure of the Rheinwehr had introduced the reality of the grave command-deck, where lone spectres lead entire crews on blind sequences of dependency. But that was a military; there was no command structure in the Unioners. Just volunteers, who were either insane or extremist enough to turn their equipment and lives from simple, hedonistic piracy to the galactic chess-game. Schultzky had a working suspicion that the captains who followed him did not do so because of any sense of obligation or duty, other than to the Unions themselves. No, Schutzky's creeping suspicion was that the captains toed the line simply because he held the biggest stick. "Onto operations. If you have not read SNN, then you are to do so. Inform your crews as to the reality of the end of the Gallian incursion and disseminate fact based upon impartial reporting. Usually local sources would be prioritised - this is not a usual time. Attempt to maintain discipline in the light of current events. Share, then ration, the alcohol provision. Tactical expectation is that Law Enforcement services will experience a boost in morale just as much as any plater out here in the fringes. We are at the end of the bloodiest conflict in history. The celebrations will be... Pyrrhic. Direktorate reports match the statements that beurocratic divisions are corroding interservice co-operation between the regulars, police, and homeland security arms. Foreign entities, including Crayter Republic, seen adopting the Convoy System in Rheinland space. Scenario degradation is to be expected. Prioritise propulsion and sensor maintenance - we do not want to provide the Federals a common rally cry as uniformed branches unravel into rivalry." He was almost embittered. He could taste the dissilusion on his own tongue. Division and civil strife, from the highest orders of the state. Many of Schultzky's adoptive moment would fantasising over the end of the empire and the Cycle of Labour; the economic inevitability that birthed the Federal Republic ringing the lid of the funeral urn. The Unioners would gossip from the sidelines as they always did during the changing of the guard - even during the nomad war, the cells were only ever oppertunistic in the face of existential demise. Yet here they are - profiteering from the end. Perhaps the ends of ends - a war that had the potential to grind for years into bone marrow and dust had unstuck itself and stumbled into hope, far away in the ragged barrier that seperated Sirius from its second, less unenviable parasite; the ego of Charles DeFrance. Schultsky wondered if his father's ship had burned in the first shot of the Gallic war, and not the Nomad crises, if he would have felt any differently. "...We must expect an influx of refugees through the Zurich connection. Gallic corporations, without a stable government to fetter them, will engage in trafficking, or not at all. The Brigands will monopolise the route. We must show strength through our opening of the connector. Rheinland will be a haven to these Refugees. Think on the consequences of a Vierlande abduction measured not in tens of thousands of our brothers, who devoted themselves to our cause, than civillians - impoverished, terrified, without a basic understanding of language, or norms. We will accommodate where we can. Protect, where able. The balance of power in Sirius has shifted once more; our reality is not what it was." "Zurich will be a maelstrom. They will press for a measure of salvation. God protects those he can." Schultzky flashed up an image of the Vierlande pack and the compositions of their vessels. What he saw impressed him - two new hels rolled out of the shipyards, still gleaming before the oxidised thermal armour was applied to their bevels. The youth and veracity of the Vierlande pack had proceeded without his interference; alike his own ship, it was the old made new. Unlike the screaming spyglass under his feet, Vierlande was sustainable. Even the proteins in the bloodstains had been put to use. "In the Berlin front, matters remain quiet. Survey expeditions down to Omega three to ascertain possible conflict debris continue unabated. The Sirene will continue to offer on decking support with our remaining flight crew. As for ship status reports, we remain mntelisec neutral. The Junkers have kept out of our no-burn range and have induced no fraticide. At zero hundred, MND combatant cruiser 'Rommel' was put out of action by a drive breech induced by an unveiled deltastrike from the Sirene's artillery within minimal jamming range. We operate... uncompromised. artillery direktor Erwald Grimm will recieve a corresponding commendation by his cell leaders, to be delivered after the end-of-war celebrations. I do not appreciate taking the vessel out of operational silence, however, it was required to ensure the survival of the Hamburg wing's LWB liason." "Operations are to continue as prior. Stand by for rolling updates." In the memory of the fallen, so none may fall again. SNDI Arno Schultzsky Syndicadmiral Oberstarbeiter of the fighting ship Sirene. Riehl waves. She's obviously dishevelled and has spent the last couple of you. Probably ejected out of something relatively recently. "Hey, you know what's funny? Getting hit by your own mines before you scratch the paintwork. Hey, it happens. Important detail is that, one, I'm not dead thanks to the good old boys up in SAR, and two, we got our target transports. Trick is to keep throwing yourselves at the Hessians until you're as good as they are. So , we'll do that. Over and over. I didn't get here by being anything other than persistent; and I'll drag Grunwing through the grinder if that's what it takes. Make the best Hessian killers this side of hell." She grins for the camera, borderline vivant, before falling back into silence. "Alright then. First order of business is patrol reports. There's a whole bunch of Gaian folks sweeping contraband through our backwoods and they're bringing in the SIS with them. I've enclosed a couple of patrol reports that'll dust that little affair up and make it clearput. I'll attach the logs as soon as I can get the ball rolling on that. Next to that, there's planetform transports. They're flooding down the routes to Stuttgart, packed to the gizzards with fertilizer. We've been raiding them pretty effectively, but... mm. Calling it like you see it is like hoping a rockman's dice isn't packed with more magnatite than luck. Advise we ship this juicy can of worms off to the Gaians; probably the Nemesis sweettalkers. We might be able to can something tidy for it. The real-steel brow-twister is the Corsican blacksuits running hardcandy onto our ring. We've seen them waltzing in in..." She appears to lose it for a moment. It's not anger or malice. It's confusion. "...Frickin... Liners. There's thirty thousand Unioners sweating it out in a Gulag and elsewhere there's frickin' waterheroin blackflags running around in ritzy-glitzy gold plated billionare daylight in their own chartered Liners. Running fricking NOX." "Doesn't matter that there's babies crawling over each other for water out in the stardust. We should have taken more than his damn money." Right then, Riehl. Get a grip. You can hear the thoughts strobing through the subcutaneous little tensions around her eyes. Control. She firewalls into it like the attack hadn't taken her. Calm. Calm, Riehl. "Third on the agenda is getting more birds out of the barn and into the cosmic black." "Oh, I grabbed something in Omega two. Base locations. Followed a Volvograd pebblebasher back to a tidy little piddler of a capitalistic enterprise. Bit off-point for those folks, but I won't stop the dog from learning how to chew his own ear off. The Hessian escort didn't decide on doing any actual talking during that one. Fortunately, it was a scan-and-scoot op'. No hairs harmed, no prangs. " Ending on a high note. Tactful. "Third on the agenda is getting more birds out of the barn and into the cosmic black." "Arbeiter Flustiz is doing real hardshifts on Grun Three. He's a bonafide overthinker when it comes to throwing his weight around the rudder - aims well, but he's too sluggish on the turns and relies too much on just nuking the whole damn local area. He's going to irradiate his own asshole or get a black-eye from the Ordinance quartermaster if he doesn't lay off with the pyrotechnics. Niska's pulling her weight on two; good combat pilot material in there, although the old man claims to be somewhere pushing mid-fifty and pretends he hasn't done a day's sim' in the mark one Arbie', he flies like he's pulling two thousand hours. Apart from yesterday, when he got himself pranged. Sod's law and all that. If he keeps at it I might recommend he gets put in front of the vocational tribunal and put in a pair of fresher boots. Oberstarbeiter maybe. It's all up to him and how far he wants to push his wizening bone structure." "Proximus Ardet Ucagelon. One would hope we can remember that in these troubled times." He grimaced.. "I will be short. The Lane Hackers have, without any prior warning and in violation of the previous testimony of professor Nicole Hunter, laid claim to the Sirene. They proceeded to Vierlande with a large fighter wing, designed to be overwhelming. Nicole Hunter herself has abruptly gone missing, and was not available for comment when her own testimony did not match with that of the current Lane Hacker administration. Make of that what you will, as the logs speak for themselves." Schultsky's expression of disgust appeared to be cast into his strained face. "A ship is a ship, and men are men. I believe that the Lane Hackers have attempted to use the pretext of the Unioners ownership of the Sirene, and the lack of known records as to the vessel's exact history, to state the case that the vessel is the ageling electronic warfare warship of the Lane Hackers - the Fu Manchu. This claim would be worthy of investigation under the terms of our alliance, and repossession possible. However, no proof was offered, simply a re-iteration of the demand followed by an escallation of Lane Hacker numbers in the astrospace surrounding Vierlande. Aberrant. " "I was within thirty seconds of issuing a live fire order on the Lane Hackers." Greed. It lined the souls of so many men that years in the Syndicates had sapped Arno's patience for self-interest. It was, to him, a neurosis, opposed to order. It was not a monetary greed, or a need for self-advancement, but a monolithic desire for control. The Siren was a very large, well armed vessel that had bested the machinations of the Auxesians and the LSF - of course, it was a desirable object. Inexonerable that thieves who would name themselves heroes would quest after its possession. Schultsky compassed the situational reality. It was an inevitability of warfare that comrades would grow competetive within a limited pool of resources. Allies of dissimilar interests would guard against one another. This was not the first time that the Lane Hackers had grappled with the Unioners over the fine print of their relationship. Nature had not intended a pecking order amidst siblings. The Romans lay dead for a reason. "I believe that the Lane Hackers will comply with my terms of vessel access. As the elected representative of the Sirene's cellgroup, I have offered the Lane Hackers deeper access to the Sirene's systems than offered to any previous organisation during the Union's ownership, and retrofit, of our vessel. If they a claim to the ship, then they will gain access through a direct survey by a shipboard team of engineers. We will have to ceed technical information on the Siren's Bifrost device to the Lane Hackers. I believe that the cost is acceptable given the consequences of overpressuring the hackers in the wrong direction." "Until then, I propose that the Unioners prioritise recovering Miss Hunter, and fortifying our relations with the Liberty Rogues. We are aware of wider Lane Hacker ties to the Xenos, as reported by the Lane Hackers themselves. Despite Lane Hacker overtures to a ceasefire between the Unioners and the Xenos, the Xenos have not engaged in an armistice. I will not presume the intentions of others. This could be a component of a wider attempt to align the Lane Hackers with the Xenos, over the Unioners. This theory is to be disregarded unless the Lane Hackers abandon our proposal to analyse the Sirene within a Unioner shipyard, at which point I will file the proposition to the GEIST subdirektorate for active investigation by our field Arbeiters. " "Our alliance with the Lane Hackers as served both sides well. The Inner Circle realises the value of the trusting relationship between the Unioners and the Lane Hackers, and would not abandon a three year developed critical asset to their organisation without a significant change in the balance of power in Liberty." "Those men who defend their kin, defend themselves. The men and women of Green squadron and the Wedel Volenteers are to be commended for providing strategic cover during the Vierlande negotiations. Schultzky, out." It was always the responsibility of leaders of men, Schultzky reflected, to end on an optimistic note. In the memory of the fallen, so none may fall again. From: Arbeiter Van Hamburg Subject: Lane Hacker After-Action report.
Guten Tag. This is Operative Van Hamburg, reporting after an incident with a Lane Hacker “inspection party”. I am submitting this transmission to document the early action of the incident that only I am privy to, as well as my own perspective during and after the incident. It started with contact from the Sirene, which I believe I am not technically privy to under Union regulations. The Sirene requested my assistance and instructed me to meet with the Party in Bering. Much to my surprise, the Hackers were already proverbially knocking on the doors of Pacifica. While I lead them through to Hamburg, radio silence was kept on all channels with little aberration. They seemed eager to get the meeting underway, leaving several of their own behind in the hurry. Shortly after we arrived at Vierlande, Oberarbeiter Niska, Arbeiter Euler, and the Sirene arrived. I would like to add that during the interim, the Hackers expressed their disdain for Vierlande, proclaiming it too “public”. Draw from this what you will, but I believe it to mean that they wished to take the ship on the spot, without any resistance. I will leave it to those higher than me to discuss the specifics of the Hackers’ findings but suffice it to say that hostilities were shortly in order. Luckily, our kith and kin from the Pacifica fleet arrived, and the Hackers ran in short order, leaving uncertainty behind. In this Arbeiter’s opinion (whatever it may be worth), the Sirene should not go without escort in the future.

Guten Tag, Frau Riehl. Due to the ‘dynamic’ nature of the Union, as well as the sensitive nature of this material, and the general consensus of my wing that you are the cell leader, I direct this message towards you so that you may involve high command as you see fit.
During today’s patrol, myself and Arbeiter Anton Kessler encountered a Core vessel named the “Embolist”. The pilot claimed to be from a branch named the “Gazal Initiative”, an organization which harboured anti-corporate sentiment. The Pilot, callsign “Embolist”, asked us to prove our worth by hunting down and bringing him five “corporatists” to prove our hatred of the Bourgoisie. We provided him with 6 pilots from the ALG. Sadly, there were no dogs from Republican shipping around. The Pilot “rewarded” us with an amount of credits, some Unioner pilots he had captured, as well as a job offer. We are to supply 200 corporatists to the Battleship “Warhound” in the Omicron Minor system. Please contact myself and Arbeiter Kessler immediately for futher details. Proof can be provided in a more secure transmission. For our Brothers and Sisters in the Gulags! Jan Van Hamburg Arbeiter, Vierlande, Hamburg. Transmission Ended

Encountered a strange ship in Frankfurt travelling along the lane towards Munich. On closer inspection, this ship appeared to be operated by some form of advanced AI system. The 'pilot' of this vessel sounded distressed, and asked for my assistance. However, there was also a second speaker onboard, expressing a desire to "consume" civilian pilots. The ship then began attacking civilian vessels travelling through the lane and abducting their pilots. At this time, a DWR Bunschuh fighter appeared. The Bunschuh pilot questioned the AI for himself, whilst the ship continued destroying civilian vessels, and began ejecting mutilated corpses from its hold. This did not appear to bother the Bundschuh operative. ![]() To make matters worse, a Hessian bomber arrived and teamed up with the Bundschuh. The Hessian and the Bundschuh proceeded to ignore the AI vessel, which continued capturing civilian pilots, while they discussed their intention to ignore the AI and target myself instead. My ship was destroyed, although fortunately I managed to escape in my pod. The Bundschuh was damn lucky to survive. As far as I am aware, the AI vessel slipped away during our battle - I have no information on what happened to it, although I was prevented from stopping it killing a significant number of civilian pilots. We should make an effort to locate this AI vessel, identified on my scans as "EPX-201", and turn it to scrap if it ever passes through our space again. As for the Hessian, I'm not surprised to see he holds little regard for civilian life, although I am disappointed to see the Bundschuh following their example. Guten Tag. Along with my activities regarding Hamburg Cell, I’ve been doing a bit of traveling in Rheinland. While we’ve obviously been stepping up our campaign in the Hamburg System against the corporate shipping lanes, I’ve extended an offer to one SNS-Discovery to take any corporate captains off their hands so as to speed up our efforts. In addition, I have been helping Munich Cell with their transports aboard the Falkensee and Grafenau respective to their current mission objectives. I’ve now retired to Planet Hamburg for my planned day off. I’ll take “pictures”.
