Liberty "Freedom" Li-C5Freedom cargo - Dopamino - 01-12-2009 ' Wrote:What is seriously not "Freelancerish" - Aegera bomber, Virage, Raven Claw, Raven Talon, all those stuffs that looks like -entirely- like a modern day fighter craft, that takes no component from actual FL universe.Um, we're trying to get rid of all of those since they don't fit... Liberty "Freedom" Li-C5Freedom cargo - Xing - 01-12-2009 Who is trying? You, maybe? I suggested once trying to replace Aegeira bomber, but got slapped on my wrists because it was a -player moddeled ship- and as such, untouchable. Liberty "Freedom" Li-C5Freedom cargo - Dopamino - 01-12-2009 I thought all imports were gonna go at some time or another, and all of the jet stuff too. Liberty "Freedom" Li-C5Freedom cargo - Orin - 01-12-2009 What is the gripe here, really? I think half of the custom ships don't look "Freelancerish". This one, ironically, I think does more than the others. And honestly, Xing is one of our premier modelers for the future of this mod's ships. This ship is excellent, and a whole lot of other Vanilla ships do indeed have wings. If it takes a little inspiration from a real plane, so what? I think the CSV looks like a pickup truck. Then we have the Train... which looks like a train. I don't see a valid argument in sight. Liberty "Freedom" Li-C5Freedom cargo - Kambei - 01-12-2009 ' Wrote:I don't know why, Kambei' posts usually hurts me at some extent, unlike other's. Your sarcastic smileys, way of flatly putting negative comments just about everywhere, and total lack of consideration for the work done by the modeller is... I don't know. Nonono, dont take it personaly (for example I loved your KNF white wolf and my RHA char is planing date your SCRA char:D... I like you that isnt point). Someone just must be negativistic and keep cool head, every time. I was 3 years admin at online strategic webgame (stargate) with 1000+ players. All those players resuplied us 24/d with ideas, graphics etc. etc. That teched me to be critical and choose only the best stuff for our project. More details, curves, wings, guns etc. =/= better. FL ships... especialy those moving cargo are simplistic and functionalistic - just containers, engine and space for crew (nice examples of keeping FLish spirit of cargo ships incoming with new mod are improved Humpback and Bretonian ship from Jinx). Sadly this ship doesnt look like FL ship, it is nice model, detailed etc. etc. but not for Freelancer. I can imagine that in game from nearest future like halflife 2 or Stalker but not in freelancer. edit: if you change front part to dont be like earoplain and remove wheels, it can replace ugly sair cruiser. Liberty "Freedom" Li-C5Freedom cargo - Markam - 01-12-2009 It's large, gaudy and a "my ship is bigger than your ship" kind of ship, fits liberty like a shoe. And a welcome addition to non-adv train 5k cargo transports. Also I would recommend making a Rhineland supertransport instead of kusari, as Kusari/Bretonia have their own super transports already, albiet sacrificing cargo hold for a huge amount of turrets. But if theres going to be a 5k transport for every house, then I guess it doesnt matter. Liberty "Freedom" Li-C5Freedom cargo - FooFighter - 01-12-2009 It's huge...and it's made of win...and it looks like the perfect troop carrier...*dreams coming true*;). Liberty "Freedom" Li-C5Freedom cargo - Linkus - 01-12-2009 I think it looks very 'Freelancerish'. Hell, even without the wings near the back it would look it. Liberty "Freedom" Li-C5Freedom cargo - Ceoran - 01-12-2009 I really like it, my smuggler could become a honest trader immediately to fly that one. (well... at least as honest as a devious businessman needs to be ...) Well, just my two cents about the size: If it is to big for the lanes and gates it would be problematic, but as long as it works the huge size doesn't matter for me. I would even tend to say "the bigger, the better" to prevent people from using it off the lanes. Liberty ships shouldn't fly into debris or asteroid fields at all, I think. Liberty "Freedom" Li-C5Freedom cargo - gekerd - 01-13-2009 I like the design, but I think it would do just as good without the wings. Could it maybe be given massive up-strafing (it lifts up on it's own, so in space it would get a massive upwards movement) |
